Recipies!
I hate making dinner 'cause I have no fantasy what so ever when it comes to cooking and I know that there are many more out there like me. Thought that here we can share our food/baking/drink recipies with eachother! Hopefully someone else will find this fun.
I can start with one of my very own cookie recipies!
Shariah's Oatmeal Cookies - 30ish cookies ( A.ka 15min cookie! )
75g of melted butter
1DL ( deciliter ) Flour
1DL Sugar
1DL Oatmeal
2 tablespoons Syrup
2 tablespoons Milk
1/2 teaspoon bakingpowder
1/2 teaspoon vanillasugar
Put the oven on 175 ( fan oven ) 200 normal.
Mix it all together so it looks nice and mushy.
Grab a oven tray and cover it with oven paper, use a teaspoon and fill it with dough abit over the egde, like when you grab icecream and dot it on the paper, with abouts 2-3CM between each.
Into the oven for 5-10 min until they look golden cripsy delicious! - Leave them to cool down and eat!

Matza Ball Soup (Jewish penicillin)
2 matzos
2 tablespoons (30 ml) chicken stock
2 tablespoons (30 ml) melted schmaltz or oil if no schmaltz
2 large eggs.
grind up the matzos into a matzo meal
whisk the two eggs, two tablespoons chicken stock, and two tablespoons of schmaltz.
Add the matzo meal to the liquid ingredients and season well, I use a lot of black pepper and finely chopped spring onion. Let the mixture sit for a bit while the matzo absorbs the liquid.
Boil a pan of chicken soup/stock, work the matzo dough into balls and drop into the soup.Simmer for 15 minutes or so and serve.
A good idea to wet your hands before rolling the matzo into balls.

Banana Bread (Absolutely fantastic! It's a homemade recipe by the way )
Ingredients:
- Laughing Eyes
- Loving Arms
- Well Shaped Legs
- Firm Milk Containers
- Fur-Lined Mixing Bowl
- Large Banana
Mixing Instructions:
1. Look into Laughing Eyes, spread Well-Shaped Legs, squeeze and massage Milk Containers very gently until Fur-Lined Bowl is well greased.
2. Add Banana and gently work in and out until well creamed. Cover with nuts and sigh until well relieved.
3. Bread is done when Banana is soft.
4. Be sure to wash mixing utensils and don't lick the bowl. If bread starts to rise - LEAVE TOWN!
(Gourmets may lick the bowl)

hmm this looks interesting. could you use this like croutons too for salads? doubt I could find matzo here but I'm guessing maybe other kinds of similar bread could work? There's a kind of lebanese bread that looks very similar matzo I think ... forgot its name, not pita bread

Re: Recipies!
a water biscuit would work probably. there will be something very similar "there". I dont think it would work as a crouton as they can be quite stodgy.
I just suggested matzo as a cheap alternative to matzah meal which is horrendously priced here.
Im sure you could get some kind of flour/meal which works as well.

Re: Recipies!
well here is the recipe for the first ever vegan meal i had. as in, the first ever meal i had which contained speciality foods used in vegan cooking, not the first meal i ever had without diary and/or meat. its not what you'd typically think of as 'vegan food' and was inspired by travelling in America (Ohio) with the woman that turned me onto veganism.
the vegan seitan sloppy joe
ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion diced up
- however much seitan you want chopped up in bitesize pieces
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- half a tablespoon of allspice
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- a can of chopped tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
cook dat shit:
1 - preheat a frying pan, add oil and sauté the onions with some salt for about five minutes
2 - add the seitan and cook until nicely browned, should take about ten minutes stirring frequently
3 - coat the pan's contents with the cinnamon, allspice, paprika to spice it up
4 - add the chopped tomatoes and cook for another 10 minutes, add the lime juice as a final touch and serve in a sandwich bun
i havent included it but there are recipes out there that also suggest adding stuff like coconut-creamed spinach and other green-leafy garnishes in the bun. i suggest doing this.
if you did well it should end up looking something like this

it comes from wheat gluten. called 'wheat meat' sometimes, i guess that describes it. its kinda chewy but adds nice texture, soaks up flavour well and is full of protein.Shaelyssa wrote:wtf is seitan? can I just make it with mushrooms or tofu or something instead?
you can make it yourself quite easily. i do it from time to time as even here its kinda hard to find in your average shop. here's the first illustrated guide i found on the net, cba to type out the recipe i use but its not that different.

And as for a recipe, i dont do recipes.. I just kinda go with the flow..
So when i make pancakes, i mix what seems proper and then i make them extra delicious with a few spoons of vanilla sugar.

You don't need time, it takes 15-20 min to do! To get them extra good, melt some chocolate and glue two together!

oooh ok cool, thanks a lot! only two problems would be the wheat gluten flour and the nutritional yeast flakes. Nutritional yeast i'd definitely not find, i searched everywhere for it before already but gonna try poking around for that wheat flour thing. thanks again. seitan sounds a lot like firm tofu though :p
and shariah i'd have to go shop for those ingredients too!

People say that horse meat is really good and healthy but yeah, I've never been able to eat it.. I find it hard to eat creatures I own myself. Had a couple of lams/sheep as well and since that day I haven't quite been able to eat sheep/lams. I better never get a cow..Cheyene wrote:just nobody suggest horse meat recipes please
I don't really have a recipe but here's an alternative food idea:
Ostrich and kangaroo meat. A lot of butcher shop departments in supermarkets have them nowadays and probably some butcher shops as well. They both have about the same texture of meat. It's probably one of the healthiest low fat/cholesterol red meats that exist ( I think it's even healthier than poultry) and I love the rich taste!
Crocodile meat is also very delicious and healthy. But it's a lot harder to come by in my experience. Ostrich and kangaroo seems a lot more common.
