Hello!
As most of you probobaly know, on the 28th this month the new patch comes out and brings the invasion of Theramore in so i thought it would be a good idea to encourage a few guilds to host RP-PvP or Dungeon master events. The invasion may bring a few good occasions for character development too. As far as i know there was no other post about that. Your oppinions please and maybe ideas? Smile

What i think we should do is wait til the 28th and then when all the forces rush to Theramore we should host a war council there and every interested guild/group could apply to help. What do you think?

This may be impossible. As far as I see, we are NOT getting a world event, we are getting the chance to play a scenario, just like we will in MoP, of the Fall of Theramore.

The Fall of Theramore will be a 3-player Scenario. That was the reason why I suggested a W-PvP event to RP the aftermath instead of the actual Scenario... and why I suggested it in the Battlescar. We still need to wait to see the scenario and/or read the book to get the full details.

Indeed! I quite enjoy the world event stuff before an expansion. It's fun to take into roleplay. I remember how Stormwind sought (Pre-Cata event) refuge in the Cathedral and various military orders were stacking up walls of sandbags and whatnot, and when attacked they'd defend the districts, with Garodin and Geldar shouting orders right and left throughout the city.

I remember marching on Stormwind as a HUGE zombie Horde. And getting rofflestomped in Elwynforest. Two raids of Zombies weren't enough when walking.

Nethaera - Patch 5.0.4 and Theramore
We'll be providing the specific timing along with some additional information about this prior to it going live within the game. This "world event" is both a world event and not a world event. It won't be "going away" at the launch of Mists of Pandaria the same way previous events have come and gone. It's a scenario, not just a one time event.

While you may not feel there will be much for you to do prior to the release of Mists of Pandaria, I've heard many others who are looking forward to spending time learning about their class changes and trying them out in the live environment before the expansion launch. I'm sure there are other things people are still working on getting finished up before the release as well.

While you may feel disappointed at the moment, our hope is that it is very short lived. Much like how this year has flown by, I have no doubt that the launch of the expansion will be upon us before we know it.

We will most probably have a ramp-up quest line with new quests every week, just like the Twilight Cult and Elemental disturbance questline. Seems we'll need the book to prepare any event in time, post Theramore Scenario... which will stay past MoP release.

As a role-player setting up events based around the battle for Theramore, I would like to know if Theramore in the game world will be destroyed when the patch hits, or if it will remain intact until the scenario is released. If anyone knows, I'd love to find out!

Similar to the way Molten Front works, the destruction of Theramore will be phased. So the city will remain in-tact when patch 5.0.4 is released. Once the scenario is unlocked you'll play through it and, upon receiving the achievement, you'll see the aftermath of the attack whenever visiting Theramore.

You'll also be able to repeat the scenario if you wish by speaking to a member of the bronze dragonflight.

(Just a confirmation no world event.)

Just to clarify on Magaskawee's blue answer:
"The destruction will eventually be permanent whether or not a player earns the achievement for completing the scenario. This will likely take place in patch 5.1."

Also, from other blue posts, I guess that an alliance camp/quest hub will still exist with changed quests and many old ones. Mage Teleportation would also exist.

Anyways, to be able to see the destruction, you have to do the scenario.
