OOC gobal channels for RPers.

I reckon, the channels HordeRP and AllianceRP should be used more frequently to stay in OOC contact. So, that one who wants to start RPing somewhere new, can instantly tell all the other RPers, and they can go out of the cities, yet stay in the loop of what is happening OOC. Another thing is this could help find like-minded RPers. Thus, making it less of an issue to RP in methods you prefer which might not be the server's norms.

Remember, Variety = Choice = Freedom. This can be applied to all things.

The idea came to me when I was playing SWTOR. There is a channel called RPempire, and it is really useful to get in touch or in the know of what is going on, combined with server forums, of course.

It's a good idea, and it would certainly make it easier for people to rp outside the main cities. However, people have tons of other channels where they can chat with their own guilds, and those with similliar guild concept, etc.. the channel light, and gnomerp. Alliancerp/horderp should be more active anyway, seeing how it is technically a global channel.

I always wondered why AllianceRP never kicked off. Back when it was actually used, it was largely a Twilight Guard channel (at least I only remember TTG people in it).

Would be nice to have a channel like that again.

It's difficult to keep up with faction based channels, simply because a lot of us are in big and active guilds. One Marauder channel is enough for me!

Back when I was really active I never joined any channels like that since between 3-4 guild OOC channels. I really couldn't get room for more. If one channel was overly active I often had to disable the others as it were.

I also know (at least knew) of people who without a channel like that already sit on 10 global channels. Might one one of the reasons.

A big channel might mean a lot of spam. Depends on the channel though, "Gilneas" was very noisy.

See, I'm in three busy chats already but I like the idea of Alliance RP being used to contact others for rp. If it could be controlled and not full of spam and just a way to advertise, for example, "I'm in the Pig'n'Whistle if anyone wants to RP" then I think it'd be a great asset!
