Lament of Betrayal

A short 'song' Gwen wrote while sitting in jail after Aldric betrayed the Chapter and framed them for most heinous crimes (true story!) Nowhere else to put it. So suffer Aldric, your name will be forever synonimous with OATHBREAKER! *contacts the Chapter Linguistics Department to implement a new noun: an aldric, a new verb: to pull an aldric and a new adjective: like aldric.*

O Light, receive my tears,

My soul is seized by dread,
And my heart bleeds within my chest.

I shed my tears,

When a brother’s dagger,
Sought out my back at night,

save the warmth of Light?

Liked the first verse but the rest make it seem like you are not going to repent and abandon Anethion at all!

A religious character doesn't abandon faith at the first sign of trouble.

When willing to face death and horrors, staring them in the eye in the name of your religion.. then betrayal may be a hard blow to deal with but it'll take more to change religion. We're not a bunch of DK's who go "boohoo in tears" and run off to the enemy after their leader made them attack something that presented a bit of a challenge.

But yea, when you are a member of an evil cult Holy Order whom every reasonable man hellbound sinner hates, and there are a lot of those, and only understanding you find is from your brothers and sisters....then betrayal sucks!
