Thing is, much like in SW these chars are bad ass. A Space marine Pwns. This makes for grief filled RP where the heretic thinks they should solo the SM and the lore says otherwise. I fear the same will be true in SW. A Jedi could solo a bar, how do you RP that without trouble.

This happens in WoW rp already Lex. How we deal with it is everyone's characters are equal unless the player decides to follow the lore and accept that their character would be weaker than the other in whatever sense. I'd imagine the case being for DM. There will be little RP to be had for SM anyway. They'd likely roleplay with others of their own class or cross faction roleplay. So I don't see it becoming an issue for non SM roleplayers.

Well, no it doesnt happen thats the point. All chars are equal unless they decide otherwise does not even work in WoW let alone with Space marines or Jedi. What of the imp guard soldier, he is so not an equal to a Sace marine, nor are imperial stormtroopers equal to Jedi. Vastly not true. Like not fecking close. But, the system you suggest will be used as im sure it is used in SW, just sucks really that nothing better can be implimented.

It's better than nothing and I'm sure people will rather use this method than go through the inevitable bs of op characters.
Like I said, we use it in WoW. As an Undead roleplayer yourself I'm sure you've stood in combat with say a priest or paladin before. In lore you wouldn't stand a chance, but where is the fun in that?
I don't worry about it. You won't find SM's roleplaying anywhere but battlefields and ships. They'll be roleplaying with each other or cross-faction.
