I noticed that myself last night, just accidental really haha. I think she looks more like Taylor Swift than the girl in my dp. All my chars I draw end up looking like celebrities.. That's why my dp is Frances Cobain, accidentally made Zalissa look like her!

I have a folder with 500+ pictures in it of ladie. Pretty ladies, ugly ladies, young ladies, old ladies, clothed ladies, nude ladies, lady faces, lady bodies... All for easy reference.

Hrmm, good idea... I might find a suitable female and try a little realism of one of my characters. I always draw from scratch and it takes AGES and I'm never happy enough with it to show it.

It's reference material Monrena. To draw better. I have simular folders for men, animals, and thrice the amount of all of em put together on environments. So.

It's a good practice to have! I try to think of my artistic eye more like a mouth, where I ' chew up ' any interesting poses, angles and forms I see.

Then digest them, and spit out cool pictures!

It doesn't have much to do with talent, btw. It's more about interest and hard word. Anyone can learn how to draw and draw well.

I think I love drawing so much because, well I haven't found anyone who really draws like me? It's awesome to think we all drawing differently! and I believe that's something to be encouraged. Hence my dislike for manga and anime, it's a style that seems to have spread like a virus.

Yet it's still a style. Everyone has a style they're good at and bitching about them isn't going to make them overly confident to try anything else. I myself drew rather well in the manga style throughout high school. :3

Your not gonna grow as an artist if you cling to tightly to -one- thing. You'll just be like every other manga and anime artist out there, predictable and un-original! I'm not condemning it, but I would never encourage someone to copy or focus to heavily on someone else work.

That's the beauty of art, it's originality! and expression!

i would dissagree.. here are some things manga and anime can depict that other styles struggle with.. cuteness and light hearted charicters for example are more easely depicted with this style than others... no one style superseeds another.. that is a personal opinion of yourself so forcing it on others is usless
