You can get one with a wooden seat. We have one downstairs. It's always room temperature and thus perfectly safe for your bum.

Ours are plastic. That shit doesn't quite get cold. Especially not since our toiletrooms and the bathroom are quite warm overall.

I actually thought about it more than is strictly necessary. We use central heating (I think that's the term? We call it floor heating in Swedish) which makes our entire house nice and cozy, with the exception of the damn porcelain seats. I figure in terms of comfort levels, it's Wood > Plastic > Porcelain > Metal. God help you if it's metal in the middle of winter and there's a crack in the window-frame overnight.

ohh I have unfortunatly had similer a long long time ago.. was on trip to edinborouh scotland I think I needed to go bad so public lavatory it was juring winter time metal bowel.. no seat included.. *shivers*
