The good ol' days.

Aye, Warcraft 1 was a neat sleeper hit back in the day with a lot going for it, yet things really kicked into high gear with Warcraft 2. The whole package truly delivered an epic experience for the time and with the fleshed out lore and powerful presentation, it was hard not be captivated by the developing universe.

The first time I completed the destruction of Alterac mission to be greeted with that cinematic of the Elven destroyers blowing those Orcish transports out of the water, I wept Gnomish tears of joy. Although I was sold from the first mission, by that point one became so engrossed in the progression that every advance or setback resonated significantly. And similarly with the Horde campaign -- one could easily invest in either faction narrative. I never really got the same cohesive vibe with Warcraft 3 even though it was a superior sequel in many ways.



For the Alliance!

Ah, good ol' Warcraft 2. It was the first strategy game I've ever played, and I had so much fun with it. My favourite unit was the undead-magic-caster-on-a-dead-steed-thingy. Stacked those and slaughtered those puny humans. *Cackles*
Then, my pal showed me Warcraft 3. I was like "OMFGWTFPLAYGAEM" and was just grasped into the epicness and the storylines. I still play it today.. Im just waiting for Warcraft 4 to be released, where all of the Lore changes in WoW hasn't happened yet so you have to defeat Tempest Keep, Serpentshrine Cavern, Black Temple and Illidan's blind arse, Naxxramas and Kel'Thuzad's annoying ice cubes, Ulduar with Yogg'saron's tentacles (insert tentacle hentai here?) , ICC and Arthas' (Tbh, if you were stuck in a block of ice for ten years, you'd get pissed of too, and without the OP buff, mind you), Bastion of Twilight, Firelands and all those nublets who sit on their arses to give loot. And of course, reviving the Sunwell and defeating Kil'Jaeden.

I spend alot of time on both Alliance and Horde since both sides has alot of great people and great RPers. However, sorry both of you factions, but the world will end in Shadow

Also. Theramore.. u mad?

WoW is really bad at recapturing the war torn atmosphere. Partly because of the graphics, but added to that the serious:silly ratio is hugely imbalances towards silly in WoW.
WC3 at least, never played the other two, felt to have much more atmosphere, and if a fourth title were to be added with the same overtones of doom and gloom, but in the -Warcraft- way of doing it, It would be a welcome turn for Blizz.

(Replace 2 for 3 if its 3 wars, and 3rd for 4th... :p Im never sure!)

Besides the point of the current state of the Alliance being simply the filler story around the lovechild of Chris Metzen, I'll just leave this here:

Foolish Savage! After the dishonor of defeat you still dare bark at your superiors! Do you really think your necessity, desperate, union of unlikely races stands a chance against a brotherhood that has lasted for centuries?! Or that it is even a threat?! Hah! You merely scratch at that which is greater than yourselves!

To look upon a defeated enemy is to see his guts spilled all over the battlefield. Defeating your enemy is killing your enemy. Not putting them on a cage like as if you were afraid of them and too soft to end their life. And we do not scratch, we cleave.. just ask the great Saurfang, puny human!

Can your blood atone for genocide, orc? Your Horde killed countless innocents with its rampage across Stormwind and Lordaeron. Do you really think you can just sweep all that away and cast aside your guilt so easily? No, your kind will never change, and I will never stop fighting you.
