Am I thick? Or just stupid?

Right, I've been playing on and off since TBC, but I have this horrible curse where I seem to get a character to 20, delete it and start again. So lately I've actually been getting end-game characters *fist-pump*...but...I have no clue what I'm actually suppossed to be doing. I know how to do dailies and I'm geared for Zandas but...the whole reforge, gem and enchant thing confuses me. Ele shammy is Int and Stam gear (Right?! Tell me I got that right?!) but....what do I want with reforging and that? :< I don't get it. Haste is good, right?! *paranoid face*

Int is your main stat yes, you should go onto the wow forums and shammy section they will give you all the details you need, like how much hit you need etc and stam aint a major factor for you in pve since you will get all you need through your gear, so don't gem it.

My personal experience with the official forums and class based knowledge is rather bad.

The WoW community is large, and there are various sources, forums and blogs with theorycrafters and gear recommendations far superior to those of the official forum.
Then again... Unless you reach a competitive level it doesn't need to be of such high quality...

And a list of BiS enchants/gems tends to be the few things on which different communities reach a consensus.

MMO-Champ forums used to have 2-3 able theorycrafters in their entire community for PvE Priest Healers. Maybe Elemental Shammies have the same.

TL;DR
Your first priority is to get 17% spellhit.
After that you are interested in pure intellect > haste > mastery > crit.
Red gem slots: Brilliant inferno ruby
Yellow gem slots: Reckless Ember Topaz (or Artful Ember Topaz)
Blue gem slots: Purified Demonseye
Meta: Burning Shadowspirit Diamond

Never go for stam as dps as a main stat, even in pvp.

PVP: Main stat and a shit ton of resilience! Stamina is also good on the side.
PVE: Intelligence is good, so is haste!

Shamalan! Mine is only 70 atm, so I'm no good. But if you ever get an end-game rogue/dk/mage, I consider myself a decent instructor! \o/

Everybody basically said it all already. Hit(to 17%) > Int > Haste > Mastery > Crit for PVE, and Hit(to 5%) > Int > Resilience > Haste > Mastery > Crit for PVP.

Do note that as Ele you're getting hit rating from your spirit if you have any on your gear

Most PVP gear has it sneakly shoved in, I gem agility.

He means gems, and stam prio'd over dps stats on enchants.

Not only did I mean gems, I also said gems, so I don't get the confusion....

I was talking about the drips and drabs of stamina you find on gear when you get it.. >.> So.. I dunno, anyway.

Point is we all start off somewhere but most people are happy to help and offer advice, best thing to do is hunt someone down you know with your spec and fire off questions.

This kinda talk is what puts me off main WoW gameplay. I just dont find any of it the slightest bit interesting.

I got one thing to say only; wowheroes: Tells you what gems and enchants you should have + where to find improved gear to what you have on you.
