Perhaps, or perhaps, as a lover of history, I shall refer to the success Hamilton's First Report on the Public Credit led to. Times may be different, but maybe the idea still stands. I believe it does, actually. The ideas floating around the government halls of Europe include issuing bonds together, be they so called elitebonds or eurobonds. The idea is the same, only a centralized organ to cut away at the debt is far more effective, but I'll let any business student, or someone with a degree in that sector, correct me if I'm wrong.

I do like the posturing of the British government somehow, they do act as if they're the fiscally sane.. Meanwhile the UK has an external debt to GDP ratio of 400%. But that's not so much an important measure, mind you, it's just a fun one. Luxembourg has a ratio of something like 3000% according to wiki (the UK statistic can also be found on wiki but also from more reputable sources).

At least here in the Netherlands we have a government that is determined to slash the deficit (as does Cameron seem to be). Now I'm wondering if they're willing to go the extra mile (eventually) and aim for a surplus.

We are well fucked, thing is Cameron and osborne's master plan required growth and it has not happened; serious shits gonna go down. Still the rich are doing fine.

We weren't in as bad a state as the Tories wanted to make out, which just makes their far too deep, and ill-placed cuts more and more illogical. As usual with Conservative governments, the poor get poorer, the rich get richer, and those in the middle slowly sink down. We also see, as evidenced by the public support/outcry of the Public Sector strikes the great Tory policy of Divide and Rule, make different sections of the public hate each other so much they ignore the stupidity of their government.

I am anti-Tory, however at the same time I see little hope from any other party in the UK, Labour, our supposed Socialist party don't have a clue themselves, our Left Wing party, the Liberal Democrats jumped into bed with the Right Wing Tories and are now just lap dogs pretending that the 15 minutes of fame will make them a credible party, it's just made them look even more ridiculous than they already were, and I was a Lib Dem voter.

I would vote Green Party, but they couldn't make a serious, workable policy if their lives depended on it, which is understandable since they will never, ever have to.

It's because of all this I can see a big rise in the support of the severe Right Wing parties like the BNP, and with that Great Britain will no longer be Great, and I shall be doing everything I can to get the hell out.
