My First WoW Video! ...But what do I make it about?
The title is self-explanatory, really. In a nutshell, I've downloaded Fraps and plan to make my first Youtube video - that I have decided to create on WoW. The problem is, I have no idea what to record it about. The only thing I can possibly think of is my new guild idea, The Tiragarde Offensive, yet I doubt I'd be able to gather the people to record a semi-impressive video...
So, what I ask of you people is whether or not you can help me think of an idea I can use to create my first WoW Youtube video. Any ideas?

Well, I think you shouldn't make a video if you don't know what you want it to be about yourself, since making videos on the sole purpose of just making a video tends to not be that good in the end.

Whatever you do, I highly suggest you don't ask Archal for advice.
Note: I love Archy to death, mind you! But I think I might have an idea what he might suggest...

Whatever you do, avoid these things
1)Lame cliches and FUCKING UNCONVINCING voice acting
2) Lame pop songs on the background.
3)Actionless sequence EPIC DINNER
4) retarded pointless moments, unless you're making a video made for the sole purpose of randomness & lolz.
Personal advice: Make 1-10 videos, then watch them 2 days after without uploading. Trust me, you'll hate what you've made. xD
And of course, write a brief scenario before you even start making it.

Loved the voice acting.

Okay. Classical music all the way, then?
...*is left speechless* Sorry to say this, Lightbringers, but (in my eyes), other than the PvP/PvE and the music, the Dinner was probably one of the better parts of the video.

well, if it's going to be an RP video or Guild video, then won't most of the moments be pointless?

Probably. Thank you for your advice.
Re: My First WoW Video! ...But what do I make it about?
Perhaps a good introduction to movie making could start as follows:
- write a short synopsis, about 5 lines big. Keep it simple. Something as simple as a kid on his first horse riding lesson or something. It'll prove challenging enough.
- work out how you intend to 'bring it on screen'. Consider the different scenes, points of view
- work out technically how you intend to achieve that. Here you may realize that you overshot 'your budget' or resources available. You do not have 3-4 different camera angles. You do not have a paid team of voice actors. How do you intend to record them in the first place?
- Once you planned these things out, try it out.
Personally, I think the first thing you should get is experience. Making your movies 'good' is not something learned in 1 day. Start out with simple, short movies of about 2 minutes or something. Stick to a scene or two: "a man delivering an alarming message", "scouts noticing incoming armies", "a person trying to escape a small pack of enemies". These are things we or do almost on a daily basis in the game... but to put them on screen in an entertaining or epic way is far from trivial.

Maybe so, but all that pausing near the start I find to be somewhat... Frustrating and/or annoying. however, other than that, good video.

Will do.
Re: My First WoW Video! ...But what do I make it about?
Its not supposed to be like that, there is supposed to be a black screen where there are pauses but most sites don't show them
(https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xatjzm_dwarven-rifle-squad_videogames - watching on low quality shows how its supposed to be)

I've seen it with the black screens, now. Completely and utterly epic, in my opinion. I can see now what Spyre meant when he said that I should find the right music, then base the video on that music.
