Technically it'd be more fitting for a Nelf, perhaps, but i think there's plenty of lee-way to be had there. If you look here You can see a model used in warcraft 3 to represent a Quel'Dorei sorceress first, and a Sin'Dorei later. Her ears are positioned pretty much in the same way as the ones in the drawing.

It's pretty low poly and usually seen from greater distance. The shapes in warcraft 3 where even more exaggerated as those in wow to suit the perspective. Druid of the claw pretty much as a prime example.

Hm, I have the things needed to draw digitally, but I've never gotten down to actually trying to seriously draw something with a tablet... Since it feels like drawing someone while not looking at the paper. Besides, I prefer pencils, they're a whole lot easier to use, shame on me though because I don't have a working scanner or camera to make them digital >:

Well its abit of a bitch to use a tablet yeah, but it depends on which one, once i find myself good enough ill be getting one with a screen on the tablet :3

I almost find it sad that I've grown more used to using my mouse instead of a pencil. Certainly wasn't that way back when I drew tons of comics on paper with my trusty fountain pen. That has changed as of late, though, just to see if I can create anything worth looking at on plain paper.

But that aside, there's finally some use for those pesky skeleton models in WoW!

I might venture to visit my grandad at some point and have a go with his tablet. XD See what I'm missing.

As far as programs go, I can only use the default Paint... XD Here's one I did years ago for a friend, the shading was too pale cause my computer screen was at the wrong angle at the time. ;_; I hate that.

I have actually found this to be the biggest raw advantage of a tablet vs. traditional means of drawing. Especially if you're behind a desk and your monitor is at the proper height, your body is in a really solid position and you'll be able to draw for hours on end without cramping up your hand or neck.

I also find toying with proportions to go a lot smoother with digital tools. Sketched her head too big, but -love- the eyes? Just simply scale the head down. If i make a mistake like that with pencil and notice it too late, i have to reach for the eraser.

I'm all for drawing digitally, really. It's a lot faster and the possibilities are nearly limitless. There remains something nice and visceral about using a pencil, though. Your eyes can still see a higher resolution then your screen can show you.

As far as programs go, I can only use the default Paint...

If you're going to use paint you may as well not use a tablet as well. The biggest advantage of using a tablet is not that is it shaped like a pen, it is that it has pressure sensitivity features. Thát is what gives it such a great advantage over other digital interface tools.

Theres a free program out there called "the GIMP" which is still shit, bit a billion times better then paint. It's pretty light to install, you should ask your grandpa if you can install that on his computer and toy with it.

Paint is not worth working with unless you want to pursue a digi-retro or pixel art kind of style.

Me and my grandad are pretty cool. XD We play xbox when I'm at his, and every time a pokemon game comes out, we've got a 100% complete dex within a week of our dual-hard work!
