[A] Cultist campaign Empty [A] Cultist campaign

Post by Vittore Sat Jul 16, 2011 2:25 pm

'Lo there. I have been thinking about this a long time and figure it should be done, as there has been a lot of drama with cultists recently.

I am planning for a guild-spread week long event, where many guilds are involved, to fight the cultist threat. This lies in within my own story line and well makes sense as everyone hates them and there's been a lot of recent activity

Guilds that could be involved
Blades for Hire
Stormwind Regiment
Chapter of holy Anethion
The Dieudonne Seal
Vanguard of Duskwood
(Any other cult guilds..Not sure on what others)
The Lordaeron Alliance

Where could it be?
I was hoping to have it in Duskwood, but any other places that people put forth are fine

To make things fair, and equal, not full guilds will be involved, just dispatches of soldiers and such. Each with a campaign leader.

How long?
Well, this is to be reasonably similar to the Barrens campaign, but shorter, as there was a lot of nothing to do. Hopefully a week long, and a lot of RP going on. This could start in a week, two weeks, what ever is more convenient for most.

This is hoped to give a lot more depth to characters, as new friendships and enemies could be made, a step forward or backward in the cult battle, uncovering a dark new secret. Fighters coming back with all new battle scars, tales to tell, and it could even bring a dark toll on one's character. It's something to get a lot of guilds in together and bring more to the table.

What would happen?
RP. A lot of RP. Patrols, attacks, struggling for ground, arguments, planning, injuries, deaths (if you want your character to die out). Perhaps this could also bring the few amount of cultists together and bring about a new dark guild with all of them together.

To be honest, it's still in its developing stages. I want to get this going well and to be honest I'd like the opinions of those better RPers there, and their views put across. Feel free to shoot down some of my ideas XD
Hopefully some will volunteer to be cultists as well, to ease out the numbers

Comment on this for ideas, pm me in game or on this, and /join campaign for a chat about it.

(Edvarven will be talking to those wishing to do cult RP)[b]

I support this whole-heartedly as I assume all the other officers of the Chapter do - I'm willing to help out in any way possible.

[A] Cultist campaign Empty Re: [A] Cultist campaign

Okay, so what I gathered from a little discussion tonight is that the basic premise of the event will be thus:

Cultist activity increases in Duskwood - men, women and children are kidnapped at random and never seen again, through Vitorre; this news reaches the ears of the Chapter's inquisition and they set up shop in Darkshire's Chapel, after cleansing it of its taint and reconsecrating the grounds.

Similarly, the Vanguard of Duskwood; due to dwindling numbers in the Night-Watch, look towards the Blades for Hire, to help bolster the ranks and protection of Darkshire: both from the cultists and the prospect of fanatical actions on behalf of the Chapter.

Due to the fortifications of the 'shire, the separate cults (Army of the Damned, Evarden and his cultists and possibly the Cult of Shadow) "join forces" to battle the self-righteous invasion of they're lands.

If possible, the Disciples of Light could also get involved, acting as a Light-guild opposed to the Chapter's fanaticism and running a hospice of sorts within Darkshire - healing and seeing to the ill.

All kinds of IC tension and spontaneous RP may come out of this, whether it is the obvious conflicts between cultists and Chapter or the simmering-tension between the Blades, the Chapter and Darkshire's residents. However, this whole post is subject to change and not much is set in stone, IC events as well as OOC discussion will change a lot of things.

Rolling cultist alts to help out is also something we would be very, very pleased to see - it doesn't take long to roll a character and level him to the appropriate Duskwood level.

Arkson is on board! He will quite likely try to find the Cultists to try and "save" them so if you need a char for passing IC stuff between the two sides then he can...If he can find the poor misguided cultists.

Definaitly the cultist side would need more people. I'd say we have well enough good guys.

Personally I would recommend people play miscellaneous/random cultists rather than existing characters to get all cultsity for one week then be off again like nothing happened.

Mhm, I dunno. I think if you have existing cultist characters, bring them - it allows the RP to be more important and personal with the knowledge that you won't be throwing a random character off by the way-side once the event has finished. As well as allowing story arcs that can continue after the pre-arranged 'campaign'.

However, if you don't have an existing cultist for the campaign; then do roll a miscellaneous, you will get an idea of cultist RP as well as possibly creating a foundation upon which your character could develop if you want to continue with the character after the event has finished.

Now would be an excellent time to introduce your witch if you have one or you're thinking of playing one.

I'd be happy to put myself forward to play a cultist as it seems the Banner has missed the boat on this event so to speak. (Hurr hurr puns). Let me know the details and I'll put my dastardly shades on and try to bring some guildies about with me.

Alternatively, get Drazial up in those cultists' face!

Sounds like fun. DoL would gladly bring some healers and a few guards to keep an eye on those evil dudes... and the cultists too.

I'd be very much interested in popping by on Jezzek or perhaps some other fitting character. Could help with getting some ideas going for the actual 'campaign'.

Is this basically the same thing as the Chapter did like a year and a half ago?

If so come ask us Dwarves to come again, it was good.

Aye, I'd hear about it from a contact who is working in Duskwood now.

Also, I'd already be planning this. Then, we ask the aid of involved guild(s) after we tell you Chapter. Then do we all ride out at once, or?

Also, will there be one commander of the whole campaign? Or just campaign commanders for each guild. Or perhaps both

I'll see if I can send one guy from House Mistmantle if allowed, I myself might be able to join up with one character as a witch depending on when this campaign is to take place (since I have a little bit of leveling to do before shadowform, wich I prefer to have).

I'm fine with all riding out at once.

The VoD will hold authority over all, simply due to them running Duskwood, the Blades being hired by them and the Chapter being allowed residence in their town... It's up to the characters how they react to this.

The officers in the inquisition (me and Paragus) will be leading the hunt/battle against the cultists... while Karlak (I assume) will be in charge of seeing to Darkshire's safety and patrols, while deferring to and receiving orders from Crojwin and the Lord of Duskwood.
