[H]Weekend of the Sin'dorei

Weekend of the sin’dorei.

13 days from now the Embassy will host the weekend of the Sin’dorei. It’s the perfect opportunity to display Sin’dorei power to the rest of the Horde, stories will be told and the fallen will be honoured. The Sin’dorei welcomes every member of the Horde to come to Quel’thalas, to learn about our culture and maybe even pick up a few magical tricks.

As councilmember I felt like I needed to host something, otherwise I’d be useless. This is just a big name for small events I have planned to host on the 22 till 24th.
Friday: Sin’dorei fashion and armourydisplay(Looking for `designers´ and/or weapons).
Saturday: The strongest of Quel’thalas(PvP duels).
Sunday: The story of Quel’thalas and the Horde.
If you have any other ideas or want to create an event that fits in this theme yourself on these days, don’t hesitate to whisper/PM/mail me. I want the streets of Silvermoon to be filled with RPers. I shall be at the three events I organized around 21:00.

Sin'dorei fashion and armourydisplay.

If you are interested in being a designer or blacksmith that wants to showcase, please write me a PM which you explain what you want to do. Depending on the amount of applications I will allow maximum of 5 pieces to be shown, so it won't be a drag.

For fashionartists
Tell me what kind of clothes you will be displaying(theme, so to speak, what the IC inspiration was), and who will be modelling as well.

For blacksmiths
Tell me what weapons you will be showing and what the story behind it is. It's a first-come, first-allowed basis, so in case you want to show weapon A, and someone already applied with weapon A, I will ask you to show a different weapon.

Duels

Time and place will be announced, but please write me an In-game letter that you will be applying in the tournament, to make sure I don't miss anything, I'd prefer getting an IC reply instead of a PM.

I have informed my guild. We will probably be interested in the PVP event on Saturday. Do we have an official venue for that yet?

Maybe the walkway/bridge in the ruins of Silvermoon? I'd say it's a little more sophisticated than a patch of grass. I'm not sure if that quest still exists that uses it, but if you want it really fancy, there's that paviljon or how you want to call it, that's near the bridge to Sunstrider island (leave Sunstrider island over the bridge and turn left).

^That bridge is where my guild holds it's monthly tournaments. It's definitely a great place, so I'll support that suggestion!

Ledgic's elf Raelen is a swordsmith, and may be interested in participating in the display of Sin'dorei weaponry. I'll send him in the direction of this thread! As for myself, I'm looking forward to this -- I'll certainly be around on Vesperel for some of the events.

That would be great, and I am thinking of changing my sundayplan. I had a good idea yesterday, but I didn't write it down and now I completely forgot...

And we could use the bridge, but it's quite hard for spectators to follow the matches there. I was thinking of Sunstrider Isle or (if only 75+ are applying), somewhere in Quel'danas. But I'll look start scouting for a place tomorrow.

Sin'dorei fashion and weapons can be worn by everyone(models), but can't be "made" by other races of the Horde. And how do people feel about using an imitation of Quel'delar on the show? It is the ultimate sin'dorei weapon, but I cannot claim to have "borrowed it" from Silvermoon or it's rightful owner. Is that too big of a lorelol, or should I be able to showcase a replica without power?

Isn't Quel'delar a dragonforged weapon that was given to the Quel'dorei.
I'm wondering if that showcasing doesn't need a good dose of propaganda.

After its creation, the sword was given to the quel'dorei and passed down from father to son until it was wielded by Thalorien Dawnseeker against the trolls and the Scourge.

The weapon itself is in hands of Silvermoon now, or yourself if you completed the quest as a Blood Elf. (The outcome is different, Silvermoon will claim it if you are not a Blood Elf, but you get to keep it if you are). Only Sin'dorei are supposed to wield the weapon. Therefor I thought I could display it. It is Sin'dorei history and a good example of a sin'dorei weapon...

EDIT: And upon the completion of the questline, the Archmage will say this:

I don't think it should be claimed that Silvermoon has the "real deal".
If anyone asks where the real one is, say it's classified.

And it's as much Quel'dorei history and weapon, as it is Sin'dorei.

That still doesn't really answer if I could use a replica to show, or that it's too big of a lorelol. x3 Ofcourse, let the storytelling/propaganda to me if I could use it, but I just need to know if it's reasonable to show it...

A replica could work with it's history and usage.

Yarr. Maybe have a pretty little stand with a glass replica, as people tend to do. For reasons unknown. I just think they break easier when made of glass.

Oh, oh, a thought! What about perhaps organising, at some point during the weekend, a bar/restaurant? We could serve traditional sin'dorei dishes and drinks. I know there are several people with bartending and cooking talents, and while Viv is hardly a professional, I'd be happy to help out / organise something like this if other people were interested :3
