Magi of Tranquil

Magi of Tranquil Will be a heavy magic school themed RP Guild. It will be located in The Mage Quarter in Stormwind.
We are continuing the idea of The Archline University. https://defiasrp.forumotion.net/t1486-a-the-archline-university.
We'll have 5 or 6 teachers who will pick students of their own, these teachers will pass down they're own specialties and unique talents (This way even amongst the students many are diffrent and will probably contest between each other) All students will have classes together aswell, We will be using actual books (GHI) and will give homework every now and then.
We will teach subjects like: Alchemy, Enchantment, History (Lore), Rune Mastery and lots of others. Of course practice and the training of techniques are part of classes as well.
The school will become a home for the students, eating sleeping and studying there.

We'll be giving students customized quests to travel around the world obtaining items, fighting people and helping guilds.
We'll be exploring many parts of Azeroth, outland and even Northrend bringing our students to points where a large amount of magic is housed this will allow us to train at different location, see new places and even get a bit of lore.

Good and Evil
The Guild will have two sides of it, major part will be "Good" but some teachers may prefer to teach their students something a little more sinister. The people who are interested in learning such will be the "Evil" side of the Guild. The second side will be a lot smaller and ICly only known by few. The diffrence between the sides is that the other one might get some privileges or missions the other one doesn't.

Requirements
To be a teacher you will need to have basic knowledge of both magic and the lore, atleast a small part of it, Also GHI is mandatory.

To be a student you will need to have the will to learn and your character must be able to possess magical capabilities ICly. GHI is also mandatory.

We accept all races and levels (though some with higher levels get a lot more freedom on their quests and assignments)

All I'd say is don't be discouraged if you start out small. It sounds like your vision is a big shiny active school, which I hope it'll become, but most RP projects seem to be turning out small at the moment. Doesn't mean they won't grow!

Well it's good to be optimistic but let's be realistic, A few teachers and a handful of students sounds more then enough for me The actual point is to create a IC way to actually gain some -real- knowledge of Magic, not some big ass mage army. Since I know lot of ppl that want to develop their characters ICly rather then just put it on they're backround.

Your character should always start from a whim and then grow up as he gains IC experience / knowledge / skills. It's straight up BS when you make a character and he's instantly the so-well-skilled-I can kick everyones ass-guy. RPing a weakling is more fun way of RP anyway

I've long felt something like this was missing. Glad to see somebody dare to pick up the magi school concept!

Good luck Ravi! A tip I could give is that perhaps you could give open classes? With that I mean that students who are not in the guild can follow them as well =) But yeah, enjoy.

If I can just find a character to put my guild-bank on, I might actually join on Julia. I've wanted to try magic RP for some time but not really felt like I know a lot about it. Being a student would be pretty perfect.

Ohhh. o_o Me likey! If this were Horde side, I'd jump right in! If I ever decide to play Alliance, I think it's gonna be a caster for this. ^^

Yes we've been thinking about something similar a bit and I'm up for it, but first we got to get the guild rolling and get some active core members before start on any projects etc.

A very nice idea, I'm glad that it's finally taken off. Whether I'll participate guildwise I can't really say, and I'm also not a GHI user, but I wish you all the best.

Hope it gets up and running soon! It's a decent concept.

Due to me and few others being the only ones in the guild doing something about the guild, we decided to convert this into a non-guild concept.

This allows more freedom for everyone's RP and removes annoying limits. Thoughts?

Should work fine anyway. Just make sure there are means for communication (forum, channels etc) and it shouldn't be a problem I believe.
