why is patch 4.0.1 takeing so long?

anyone else had to wait almost 24 hours for the patch to download?
or is it just me
also any tips on how to speed it up?

My patch took a few hours to download. So I don't see the problem.

My patch only took about 20 minutes because I got most of it beforehand when they were background downloading it.

There is no problem unless you have a crap connection or just forgot to get the other 5.6gb down first.

Some people had issues with the downloader and had to either delete the game entirely and reinstall it (yes, that took less time than the downloader for some xD) or adjust the downloader's preferences. Also, many are really pissed off because of this http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=14870140820&sid=1 , which Blizzard did know beforehand but saw fit not to warn anyone about.

Yea exactly. I mean it's good they make the backup but at least TELL people what is going to happen.. so they can prepare.. *facepalm*

Mind you, I do have 750Gb to play with so I didn't really notice that >_>
