Not really, missy. But let's just assume you're right. I'm still too careful with links and whatnot so who cares! ^^

Its worth getting an authenticator anyway, even if you dont click on the dodgey links and what not, as it provides a very good extra level of account security.

Don't see it as buying an authenticator, see it as buying a pet and getting an authenticator for free!

But, the autheticator should "really" be free. Ethically, or something, the holes should be filled by Blizz giving you one (an autheticator) with a new game...

But this is a business. So it's obvious why they charge you. Same as Norton or McAfee isn't free (but Avast is, my story falls apart here).

At least the postage isn't more than the fucking autheticator. It used to be. That was a joke. £13.00 or something for the item that costs £6... bastards!

On a side note: I can't get an authenticator or any other pets/mounts/whatever from the Blizz store. I always get the message that they don't ship stuff to my country, although it is in the list of countries they are shipping to. Awesome, innit?

The point is that you dont -need- an authenticator, just like you dont need a celestial steed. It is an optional extra that you can play the game without it. Thats why they will never include it with the game.

And Mandui, have you tried seeing if you can dowload the mobile authenticator on your well.. mobile phone? They have a list with phones that are compatible somewhere

Also, blizzard is not and should not be responsible for your account safety, in the sense of you not securing your PC. They charge for the authenticator because it is an extra service, it is not something they owe you.

It is the players fault that they cannot properly secure their PC and click dodgy links or generally lack the knowledge (Wich isn't hard. Just install a free virus-scanner or something.)

only thing wrong in that pic mansfield is that you can remove the block nod32 puts on websites that give out free keys - just disable web access protection temporarily :-)

Next thing you know, Blizzard will sell insurances for -if- your account gets hacked, what will be covered and what you'll lose.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! I like the authenticator, using it myself and I can understand they ask money for it. It's not like it's a huge amount anymore. Nowadays it's like 7 or so? Got mine for free for my itouch however. Whooo.
