ICly, we're not just some random guild of heroes. We're an official army-regiment of His Majesties army directly, we wear full uniforms, have full discipline and formations, and we're not heroes. We've got numbers and we die too.

It's a sensitive political matter. If the elves deny they practically are saying; "King Varian, you can get lost, we elves don't need you and won't accept your help. We're practically splitting ourselves from the Alliance.".

Yes, for they are still a xenophobic race that will tell a bunch of random, self-righteous, bloated wannabe knights, who think they are the shit, to gtfo.
Varian Wrynn has no shit to say in Darnassus or Elven territory, nor will the Elves bow to their will seeing humans still like to prance around with magic, demons and other shit. The humans are a race of toddlers in their eyes, which they should have to watch as carefully as the orcs, you'd be a burden, nothing else.

And in Cataclysm, the only zone where nelfs are getting beaten is Ashenvale. Stonetalon becomes theirs, Feralas is theirs, Darkshore, Felwood becomes cleansed etc etc.

Tyrande would let you in no problem. Natures[sic!] Grasp would also let you in no problem, and with extra hugs.

But the Winterblades don't follow that way of thinking. They are paleoconservatives perceiving the cultural threat of the Alliance (mostly humans) as almost as grave as the physical threat presented by the Horde. The goings-on in Stormwind, the extremely rapid opening-up of Kaldorei society, and the breaking of millenia-old taboos all make them increasingly distrusting towards humanity.
I love the dramaticism of roleplaying out this bitter duality, this inner conflict inside every Winterblade. On one hand, they are sworn to the death to Elune and her High Priestess. On the other, they bare their teeth at her policies more and more.

After all, if the very core values of your society change, is it even worth defending and dying for?

We aren't coming to stay, we're coming for a short while. 1-2 days max. Anyway, it'll be handled IC. Raelans' response seems completly unbased to me. Without the Alliance, the elves will surely fall apart. Do not forget why the Alliance was formed in the first place.

Anyway, the IC views of the circle of darnassus will settle this, and will surely be interesting.

100% chance the elves wouldn't send the human army off and risk a political war, for 1-2 days of training in elven lands.

I don't think that matters in any way.. it's not really about liking or something.. I think it's just politics and survival? It's just official RP, I of course expect any elves to hate us and spit us out or throw some remarks in it, but in the world of politics and survival, you have to co-orperate.

And besides! The cocksure attitude is the one ALL humans have! We're all 100% convinced of our human might and that people need us!

Not ours exactly. I believe when the elves deny the human army access to their lands, the human army would deny the elves help/access to human lands, ICly.

Anyway! It's all okay in the world of RP! Seeing as I've seen the Winterblade priestress roam around SW freely a many times, I hope we can march and rest at Astranaar with peace in our hearts, without an offensive elven escort to show us out. We're just being polite and making the elves aware we're coming! So that they won't go /shock!

Disclaimer: Just because your tiny regiment gets sent off doesn't mean Stormwind would turn its back on the elves. So they're hardly at all risking political war, no matter what they'd do. The Alliance needs the elves just as much as they need the Alliance.

I think we're all misunderstanding each other here anyway! Pacts have been signed, all of the Alliance has free-pass through Alliance territories, following their respective laws and forcefully removing every human from elven territory would be no less then an act of war and would be impossible IC. SW itself has a few thousand elven inhabitants, I believe, and their own district.

We're not there to play guards. We're not there to police the elves, we're not there to stay, we're random visitors that will follow elven law and act appropriately, who've sent a letter to the elven council announcing that a few humans are coming to elven lands so they won't be shocked.

It's not a big deal at all, there's no political war, there's no blown-out-of-proportions thing.

Elven lands, elven rules, elven territory. I was talking about if the elves would deny the right for humans to move onto their lands and break treaties amongst the Alliance, as was suggested.

It'd be the same as "Hur hur, elves can no longer come to Stormwind.". So it had me confused a little bit.
