My brother's wife has a very hard time, uh, staying pregnant. Fortunately it ended early this time.
Ouch man :S that's rough. I wish your family lots of strength... That's a tough blow.

1. If it affects only one transit it is far more likely that the issue it at their side.
2. Hollidays, virtually no work is being done except for emergencies ofc.
3. If they knew exactly what was the issue and it was a config it would be fixed within minutes rather than hours.
4. The whole "handle their packets" explanation seems dodgy. There isn't much handling of the packages involved other than sending them different places.
5. Some traffic seems to pass so it clearly doesn't affect all traffic.
But enough of reason in the vent thread...
they did change it
causing virgin media to classify wow as a P2P program, which means it gets throttled shit loads thanks to their traffic management
go look at virgin media forum, i am quoting directly from them.

Delivering a poor service to the world #1 MMO that, on its own, shows unprecedented numbers in the entertainment business... Some manager on top has got to realize the stupidity of their company if they keep that up.
Re: The vent thread
Sorry, I am not buying it. I can't read their forums (which is probably the real root of the problem, since I'm in telianet). Once again I might very well be wrong here, the explanation just seem so strange. Guess we will have to wait and see...Feydor/Dostoyev wrote:Frostfeather wrote:ehm... I really doubt that. Our network teams have confirmed that this issue appears to be on the Telia network. We do not peer directly with Telia, we route Telia destined traffic through Level3. Re: The vent thread
well keep reading the topic. some tech guy wrote a much more interesting post further down
Thing with customer service is they don't always have technical knowhow or the time to fully get the issue at hand, still it's their job to answer those questions. Tough job for sure.
and FYI this was not due to traffic shaping or some labeling or any other mysterious package handling, nor was it an issue within telianet. I'm still not 100% convinced that Telia is not to blame for this but it has nothing to do with any of the above, thats for sure.

Telia is nicknamed Felia in Sweden, mind. That's like if it was an English company it'd be named Krongia and people nicknamed it Wrongia. So yeah, pretty bad.

Re: The vent thread
Whether the issue lies with Telia or Virgin can't really be decided by any statements realised by Virgin.
Because they lie through their teeth 99.9% of the time. So, all anyone can do is wait for them to resolve whatever is really going on. Could be as simple as a disagreement over charges, in fact, wouldn't shock me if it was just that.
Also, Saali, that's pretty sad news :/

Re: The vent thread
I have a little brother who's 8, I'm obviously biased but he's such a sweet little man, always willing to lend a hand, always willing to try and cheer someone up. He means the world to me. Now he's been bullied in the past and still is sometimes, today I accidentally looked at his monitor and on it I saw his own page on a Dutch social networking site. Some kid, the same age as he, who bullied him in the past was insulting the hell out of him on it.
It pisses me off to no end, it makes me furious. That little prick doesn't have the fucking guts to say what he said to my lil bro's face, let alone with me standing around. Fucking little coward.

Ouch... that sucks.
Ant, do this. Track down the kids parents. Visit them, tell them that their kid bullies your brother and show them your proof. They can't pull the crap "My sweet little angel would never do that" then.
Hopefully they might be decent human beings.

Like that works. The parents of that little bugger who bullied the tubby kid until he introduced his face to the concrete wanted an apology from the kid who was being bullied
I got hassled at school too, and the only way to shut them up was to make them shut up. I know not everyone's as violent as yer average Scottish person, but I don't really know of a non-violent way to suggest. :@

Talk to your brother and try to find a way for him to deal with it first before trying to confront the bully, is what you should do in my opinion. I'm really sorry about your brother getting bullied though, that really sucks.

Re: The vent thread
Thanks guys, unfortunately my little brother doesn't want me (nor my parents) to do anything as of yet because he's afraid he'll be bullied more because of it (he literally said that.).
As he doesn't want that, I won't do a thing, even if it doesn't feel right. He did say however that if they continue he'll ask me to help out
Problem is, I can't exactly do anything violent because of the age gap (Yours truly is 18, while the fucker is 8, just like my lil bro). I can only scare the crap out of him, or just give him hell..
God, I feel powerless right now.

At least you've been able to talk to your brother about it, so that he knows that you're aware of it and that he's not alone. Still, I understand it's a shitty situation, and I'm sorry your brother has to deal with this. Some kids can be such little pricks >>

Re: The vent thread
THIS
IS
SO
ANNOYING
When I'm stressed out (thank you very much exams), I don't eat. When I'm stressed out, I also run. Since I don't eat and then run when I'm stressed out, I get super hungry later. Oh and sometimes when I'm stressed out, I end up pigging out. A lot.
My fridge mourned the loss of the following items today:
Leftover breakfast burrito.
A bowl of oatmeal.
A bag of chips.
An apple.
A banana.
A pudding cup.
Two glasses of OJ.
A veggie burger.
ANOTHER burrito.
A bowl of chili.
And a can of soda.
And the worst part is that I don't even LIKE soda!!!!!!
And I don't even want to count how many calories that all adds up to because I know I'll just end up waking up tomorrow in a mound of my own blubber anyways so why bother -.-

Re: The vent thread
This is the 7th time within 2 months that my cats have caught a mouse outside and brought it to me alive (LOOK WHAT I CAUGHT!!! 8DDD /flex). This time it happened at 3:30 am. I woke up by the squeals of the poor thing being cornered by them under my bed. It took me 45 mins to catch it and throw it outside again, just like with his/her 6 predecessors. I had I really hard time getting up in the morning.
I'm sick of this crap.

If your cat brings you small animals its because they have seen how you never hunt anything yourself, and decide to show you how its done.

A whole mouse is better than half a rabbit.
Or a living magpie, do you have any idea how much area in a room they can cover with shit?
Edit:
Mandui, that's not a gift, that's a threat btw.
