In September, I applied for a scholarship (from my country's ministry of higher education) to study medicine in Canada. I was accepted, and because I only have IGCSEs and no A levels, they were going to send me to a sort of "preparation course": basically, I would be doing a Canadian grade 12 equivalent course at the university until I was ready to start pre-med. I asked the ministry and the director of student relations at the cultural officer there repeatedly to make sure that I did not need any A levels, and every time they said no, that I would do the preparation course which would start in January.

Now, three months later and two weeks before I am about to leave for Canada, they tell me that I can't go because I only have IGCSEs and not A Levels, and that the course would be too hard for me and that I was guranteed to fail ... This is three months after they reassured me about a trillion times that I would not need any A levels. They're telling me now that I need to go get my A levels before I can go.

All schools here started three months ago, and none of them will take me in. I did really well on my IGCSEs, hamdillah, but still, because I'm three months late, none of them will accept me.

I'm going to try and transfer my scholarship over to the UK, finish off my A Levels here and then just forget about that stupid moose-humping country for good. God, I was so psyched about leaving the mideast, now I just feel like somebody's shot me in the stomach with a gun ...

It's been snowing here for the last few days.

I really, really, do not enjoy snow when it's just there for no reason at all... Yes, It can be nice to look at. Yes during christmas and new years it's mood setting.
But those things are a bloody month away!
The snow we get where I live is always wet disgusting crap snow that turns into slush the first chance it gets. We never get good nice dry snow of any kind. Not that I'm partricularly fond of that unless there's a skii slope somewhere close.

Now, can anyone from the north come by and get your blood snow so I don't have to look at it?

So, I had a bleedin' 'Personal Tutorial' which is a technical term for speaking with this over-keen-optimistic-smiley-paid for fuck knows what-'staff'.

It takes roughly twenty-thirty minutes to walk from the closest train station to campus, the problem is that there is only one train per hour that comes/goes back to my town so if I end up leaving at 13:25 instead of 13:20 for instance I'm stuck waiting an hour and half in this hole they call a 'City'.

So I was stuck with one at 13:00 even though my last lecture ended at 12:15 meaning I could have caught the train. I considered just not going and claiming "Oh, I got the day wrong" but what the hoo-harr. So I waited, got a bit of work done and went. After fifteen pointless minutes of the typical; "How are you? How are you doing? Is everything okay? Are you up to date with your work? Okay? Great. See you soon!" etc, etc, I leave at about 13:25 and rush to the train station.

I get there and guess what; Delayed by 20 minutes and now chav scum have invaded the station to loiter and inform everybody that they know how to raise their voices.

Then it turns out on the way back, thieving *Insert racially motiviated comment* have been nicking the copper wire from the tracks, adding an extra ten minutes onto the journey whilst we wait for them to sort it back. Third day in a row for that, bloody Eastern Eu- *Beep*.

Put it back together with paper glue and carry it very carefully to the store. Then complain about a mild 'noise' on it and ask if the clerk wants to take a look at it. Of course, as the clerk grabs the headphones the whole thing falls apart and you complain "Now you made it worse!".

Then wait for the store clerk to log in and rant in this thread.
