Kingdom of Arathor takes a Break!

While the Hordes had been massing to Hammerfall, and with Stromgarde still rebuilding, Saihna found herself in a dire position. With some of her army away in Northrend, and some that were stationed in Stormwind, she had but one choice. The rest of the army in the surrounding regions were called back to Arathi, back to Stromgarde. The City was barricaded as best it could be, the gates closed and the ruined bricks instantly reinforced. Most of the inhabitants of Arathi had done the same in their villages, or fled to Dwarven lands. It was said some had even fled up the mountains to hide. It was as if history was about to repeat itself right in front of their very eyes. The gate of Thoradin's wall was closed, and the only members of the army, scouts and hunters, were set to guard the hole in the wall. None were to pass alive, without an arathorian escort. Still, Saihna knew it was not enough, she could not control the skies. More Horde would mass to Hammerfall, and if aid was not to come soon.. The final blow would. With her General's and Captain's in other regions, she appointed a single scout a temporarily rank of General over the army. A young yet quite skilled girl by the name of Joanne Tate.

But something Saihna did not have planned was the army's reluctances to her remaining in Stromgarde. As always, she had merely count herself one of them, a sister arathorian, while as they had higher thoughts of her. One evening, Tate had confronted her, asked her to leave Arathi. Asked her to get help instead, and if help would not come.. asked her to uphold the arathorian legacy in their darkest of times, and rebuild it from ashes once more. Saihna knew that even if the wanted to stay, they would not let her. Being arathorian they would join together and even go against their superiors order simply to save her life. She left, with a heavy heart, and while on the gryphon down south, she did not turn her eyes away from the Highlands until they were simply out of sight..

Lately the guild with it's more or less 70 members has been very inactive. Even if people have tried to make events, it has remained such.

And as such, the Officers of KoA decided to take a break of the guild itself for a while. Thus the majority of it's member has been removed.

However, the concept of the Kingdom will remain. There will still be roleplay up in Arathi, but now that KoA as a guild is on pause, the concept itself is open for everyone to join in on. Even if in another guild you can now come and roleplay with us when there is roleplay up North, and as such you are also able to gain ranks within the Kingdom.

The KoA forum will serve as out communication site, as well as a channel you may join once you are part of the Kingdom.

As for the guild itself, it will open up once more when Cataclysm comes. From what our sources tell us now, the City of Stromgarde will be rebuilt then, hence it will hopefully be a more pleasant place to roleplay at. And even if it is not, the guild will take on recruitment's once again then.


So for anyone who was in the guild and has been kicked, worry not! If you still come and roleplay in Arathi, your rank will remain the same. If you do not show up however, we will assume you moved on to something else, which is fine.

And to those of you that were not in the guild, you are now more then ever most welcome to Arathi to roleplay with us, and as such you may gain ranks and privileges depending on your participation.

(As you can read from the Story, Arathi is more or less a war-zone at the time being. Will write updates on how things progress!)

Indeed, there are still some non humans, alas only the ones that have been with us for a long while and contributed to the guild. Once the guild opens once more, the recruitment of non humans will be very strict and limited.

Awh, shame to hear, but I suppose it's necessary if it feels like it's coming close to an end. If there's one thing I've learned so far, however, is to never give up hope when it comes to keeping a guild alive. There will always be ups and down. OotRB has seen many, and I'm quite happy that it's experiencing quite the rebirth of its most active days as it is for now, though there have been days that there would only be three or so people showing up on events, and rarely anyone online at all.

It's simply a matter of pressing through those times, and knowing that as long as there's someone willing to sacrifice some time and effort for the guild, it's not dead just yet. Sure, it's one hell of a job to try and recruit people, but such a thing simply takes time. There will always be ups and downs, after all.

In any case, good luck with whatever it is all of you plan to focus on next. Of course, it would be amusing to see another gathering of "Red Fists" to fight with again, but in the meantime, we'll try to keep plenty of orcs alive to bash for when that day comes!

Oh this is not the end naturally! However I felt that since Cataclysm come soon, I wanted to let people go out there and spread their wings a little, try something new, and vent a little before we get at it again, when the expansion hit.

All Officers left feeling good about this, having a bit of time off and enjoying some new things before the guild gets up on its feet again. And we made a channel for all who is still ICly part of the Kingdom so we can keep contact and still decide events together and such alike.

My, that's quite cheeky. Not quite as gloomy as I had imagined it to be.

Suppose it's quite tempting anyway, with all those new guilds I've seen being smashed out of the ground like cauliflowers as of late. Wouldn't mind seeing Koz in some other situation either some time. Like... running a bar or something. Yeah.

... Must get the images out of my head before I actually go ahead and try.

Yeah, tis true we all feel this is the best thing for the guild at the time being, I am still at ties to whether I will ever return to the actual guild tag. I just think Nyg is much more comfortable in his current situation, moving to the major war zones and fighting off which ever scum he has to, then being tied to KoA as the Orin. Nevertheless, if I continue to serve in the Fordragon Company come Cata, no doubt I will continue to be an avid contributor to the Arathorian concept.

Let's hope your sources are right! Else you'd end up with using that imagination of yours again!
And I sure hope there will be more players interested in the Arathorian roleplay by the time of Cataclysm.
And remember, You always have Clay to pull strings with to get some RP. I can try focus something on your grounds if needed be.

Oh, thats why I was able to sign that chart later in SW. I havent noticed we split. It was a bussy week... so I didnt really care about WoW. But true is I wasnt the right Arathorian either IC and OOC.

So its time for me to find some "squid" guild

I went on the KoA site again only to pick up MalWare (Basicly, software with gives you a fake 'YOU HAVE 27 VIRSUS! DO YOU WANT TO REMOVE THEM?" at which point, accepting and registering lets it bypass Firewalls/Security) which couldn't be removed by normal means, nor did any of my numerous security (McAfee, AOL Spytracker etc) measures failed to pick up.

Do note we're currently not so much in Arathi in this case, due to the current Hammerfall situation. Alas, more RP will be stationed there again once we get the WPvP fight rollin'! <3

I don't see why not. Guess you gotta get involved with the whole thing first though. (Although things seem a bit slow right now, not sure when the fight is going to be again, after last attempts utter gank-fest)
