Thought that aswell at first, my they say these events occur at the same time as the Dragon Age 1- Storyline. And Flemeth is nay dead yet, alas she's doing some Shady business prior to Morrigan and the bunch ''slaying'' her.

Means it doesn't rule the 'Morrigan's Child' idea out completely. But given you can import your decisions from Origins, I personally doubt he/she'll be the witch's descendant. There'd simply be too many plotholes; like say, the option of telling Morrigan to shove off prior to the night.#6 When does Dragon Age 2 take place?
Dragon Age 2 takes place sometime after the Blight of Ferelden, as the Darkspawn and other threats emerge to endanger the world again. The story unfolds over the course of a decade as you rise to power and change the world.
And of Flemeth (<3 Kate Mulgrew), she can't die. She awesome

Both the lead designer and lead writer have confirmed that he is not Morrigan's son.
