To learn things, go to a museum or read a book. There was a large rebellion in Japan after certain aspects and certain foreigners came to change things.

And the samurai culture predates that by some 1000 years.
The Kamakura period and the Sengoku period are both excellent examples of eras where the bushi were holding a lot of power. I'm sure you're familiar with the words Shogun and Daimyo.
