Re: The Old Republic - "Hope" Cinematic.
Definitely going to be there for this one. Galaxies was awesome for roleplay before they did the revamp and let everyone be Jedi - which didn't fit the timeline the game was set in at all. Player cities, crafting and the size of the game was just awesome. Plus you could change your "class" without too much effort.
I still remember my days as a Stormtrooper at the Imperial Garrison of Mos Entha. Riding Dewbacks and patrolling those dusty streets. The height of awesome. Then I was tempted away by the evil of WoW and when I returned, the entire game was broken :<

Nice cinematic. But as always nice cinematics tells nothing about the game-play or in-game graphics sadly.
Anyway I would have prefered a new KoTor game above a MMO. Still cool cinematic gives me that KoTor vibe a bit.

I look at the Hope cinematic much like the World of WarCraft ones. Not indicative of the gameplay, but serving out a big dish of action for the fans who love to see the reckognizable gits and grunts tearing into one-another, as well as presenting some backstory and atmosphere (most prominent in the WotLK intro cinematic).
My main interest in this game is Roleplaying, since the combat seems a little clunky (I'd have preferred something like Mass Effect's combat systemed adapted for an MMO) and I suspect will drag down the PvE/PvP quite a bit for me, making this video the awesomest bit of hype they've released.

The MMO is the new KotOR though. To quote Angry Joe, "This is KotOR three, let's see, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten." With the focus on story, dialogue, choices affecting progression etc, it's clear that the design philosophy is centered around recreating the KotOR feel and gameflow in an MMO environment, literally making it a KotOR MMO rather than World of Warcraft IN SPACE! like most Sci-fi MMOs on the market try (fail at) being.

I agree with that Cinematics are eye candy for the fans, and there is nothing wrong with that. But they are no indication at all for gameplay and in-game graphics etc. WHat I try to say is that people should never use a cinematic trailer to decide to buy a game or not, because then the chance to be dissapointed increases quite a bit then. But judging what you said you don't seem like a person who would. But for who doesn't the should read a games (p)revieuw or play a demo and use their own judement/instinct instead.

Well I guess I meant the classic style of KoTor. A single player rpg. Tbh I am a bit tired of MMO's. I prefer playing single player games these days. Much more relaxing then a realm full of people annoying me one way or another. Therefor I was very dissapointed when I heard they were making a Kotor MMO instead of a real single player sequal.
