To keep things brief, most people know my views on this subject. Too many moderators are wagging fingers at things for the sake looking like they're doing something when it isn't needed. This latest incident is nothing but complete crap, and there's nothing 'adult' about resticting peoples opinions (Of which few were flaming) and quickly locking/deleting a thread because lord forbid somebody may say something against a moderator, or the current state of affairs.

^ that. I locked the last thread. Because enough is enough. You don't agree with it? Don't make two completely unnecessary and crap threads before it. I have better things to do than nursing the lot of 5-6 around. Which is also why I didn't bother with the bullshit in the other two threads. And I don't intend to, either. It appeared like yet another trolling attempt. If you don't wish things to be perceived as "yet another trolling attempt", then don't fecking spam trolling attempts prior to them. Simple as.Halya wrote:Children, on all sides. Grow up. And I don't mean, stop trying to have fun. Stop slinging mud. Stop pretending you're flawless. Either stop arguing completely, or compromise. Its pitiful to watch these forums at times. Pitiful.

That. I hate it when we're being called childish, look at yourselves.
Oh and perhaps people make more and more threads about it because they actually want to be heard by the forum, a PM to a Mod can be ignored, even if not it's you vs the Mod whom in various cases act like Gods. People actually want to have their point of view -looked- at and have room for some people to -agree- with them. You vs the Mod = NOTHING. The Community vs The Mod = The possibility of the Mod's actually learning, for a change.

Re: Oh come on...
I'm rather confused about this whole ordeal. I looked at the rules again and again and couldn't find any of them I for some reason wouldn't agree to. But obviously out of the 470+ members this forum has, 10 or so insist that there is a reason to disagree.
Why don't these people make a thread that perhaps doesn't involve trolling, youtube links, random pictures or the use of caps and various colors, in which they explain what their issue is? Keeping this up will only cause more havoc :/

I find it hilarious that when we voice our complaints so the mods actually hear it.
They just show up and act like dicks.
This isn't a forum, this is a fascist oligarchy.

470+, out of oh about 30-40 that's actually active...And that's only about 10-20 who actually post...Hrm...
Sorry but anarchy is how people rebel, havoc is going to happen. The issue has been explained, now it's being ignored.

Regardless of the numbers, I still haven't seen a single decent post with arguments as to why those who disagree do so to begin with. The whole RAWRAWRAWR attitude is bound to be ignored.Nygarth wrote:470+, out of oh about 30-40 that's actually active...And that's only about 10-20 who actually post...Hrm...

If she can find the posts that hasn't been censored the first time around there was a shitstorm about the mod's.
They had some pretty good arguments.

Remember that everyone perceives our roleplaying world differently, and just because you feel a certain way about a topic does not mean that is the only acceptable way. This. This particular rule, for some reason, does not apply to most of the mods & admins.
And, in my view, it creates a paradox in combination with
Rules wrote:Flaming, trolling, derailing, childish arguing, being intentionally offensive or having a childish, rude or aggressive attitude is not tolerated. The same goes for posting spam, porn or otherwise inappropriate subjects. Anyone breaking the rules or behave in what we consider unacceptable ways will be made clear of this, repeated offenses will likely lead to a ban. I will not specify this any futher, nor do we have any obligation to. Anyone we find trying to be an ass in any way not already mentioned above can and will be dealt with as we see fit. We are very open for new people to join but remember you do not have an inherent right to be here nor is this a democracy, if you disagree with us wanting to keep this forum clean of trash as much as we possibly can, you’re free to leave.
First of all, the aggressive part. Second of all, open minded part. Everything can be classified as trolling, to a degree, so that leaves mods free to just spit on people, calling them trolls because they do not want to accept their opinion.

Nah, as far as I'm concerned I'm fine with the moderation and the rules, although I was slapped once or twice by both of them at some point while being silly. It was more a suggestion towards those who decided to go bananas.Nygarth wrote:I suggest you look harder.

Organization leads to oligarchy (As theorized by Robert Michels).
On err-- topic?: Pointing out concerns is all fine, but a select few people here take the opportunity to BITCH about anything. You keep taking and taking and taking. These rules are here because you BITCHED about the moderators; because some people thought the mods were just locking threads and banning people based on personal preference/whims. Now there are clear rules laid out and you STILL keep on BITCHING. If you think it's easy to moderate, or that you can do a better job, how about posting something constructive for crying out loud. This thread has close to none so far.

I see two of the pretty much same posts out here, so I'll just stick to this one since it has gotten the most attention so far.
Now, I don't know what exact grudges or incidents some people may be referring to or talking about, but I think Gnash has already stated a valid point that I was about to put forward upon reading all this. If you have a problem with the mod team or anything in particular on the forums, post it in an easy-to-read post stating -what- past posts or actions concerned you and what you would like to see changed. All these random posts about anarchy, revolution, uprising or whatever aren't going to do any good if we don't know in particular -what- needs fixing.
That's the only thing that I can fart out of my head right now, I'm afraid.

I think Marrenus just clarifyed how great those 'rules' are, in my opinion. If anyone, he has made the most -constructive- points so far and he was 'banned for honesty'.

Being censored to the point of such opinions being compiled into a ton of drama in one hour of fast posting. That's what happened.

I can't see any posts on the mod forums that refer to him as being banned. Perhaps I'm missing something here.
<- *Needs to be obvious-fied*
However, if people are generalizing about the mods, you'll soon find very few people will be willing to take over the responsibility to do such things. It's always the "enforcers" who have to take all the flak, so I'm not in the slightest surprised about this either, but if generalization is the answer, I'm tempted to step down. And I know others would be discouraged too.

Re: Oh come on...
Not really. His post expresses his disagreement against any sort of moderation, since no matter who is/will be a mod, will have to barge in during arguments people have and try to ease things down. Unless of course people want to have a forum full of random threads, where derailing, flaming and general chaos rule.Nygarth wrote:I think Marrenus just clarifyed how great those 'rules' are, in my opinion. It's obvious that the rule doesn't always apply to mods, but it only doesn't when their intervantion happens in order to stop any bickering that might be going on. That's what mods do and it's normal.

I think this thread was more some sort of outburst following the recent departures of people, unknown moderator being appointed, threads locked and some shizzle.

Wait till some 3-4 dogoodydoers start "creating" alternate realities about you, as well.

Thing is, Koz- You're one of the mods that I personally would be quite happy to keep. You do your job, by which I mean, you don't just lock stuff unless it's a full out flame-war.
In an ideal world, any argument has it's own weight and should be left to run it's course unless that course causes problems in the wider community- Which, on these forums, has only happened since this over-moderation has begun.
