I woke up this morning to find all my TRP 3 data gone. Does anyone know how to get it back? Or will I have to rewrite it?

Can't say that i do. However, i would recommend you to have your long description copied on Word Pad/Notepad on your computer somewhere. Saves up headache if more bugs as this happen.

Addons are not foolproof. It's best to have backup files for your items.

I have had this happen to me 3 times. So after the second time I went into the WTF folder and backed up the .lua file.

TRP3 does it quite a lot. TRP2 is more stable.

The WTF folder doesn't just wipe itself. Stupid addons like TRP do it. I've never had my WTF folder wipe itself, because I don't use lame addons.

Saying that, when I experimented with making addons I accidentally made a fork bomb, so I've had that fucking around before. Still got a healthy WTF folder though. TRP sucks.

Bacupcopying the WTF folder have no use, since TRP do -not- store their info there, just FYI.

This indicated that you meant the lua file within the WTF folder. And by that sense, backuping the whole WTF folder would have been enough.

However TRP store info in the Interface folder, under the seperate TRP folders instead. Backuping those Lua files is probably more effective Wink

Or just copying all the files and stuffing them into a new folder. Works fine for me xD it's really not that hard guys!

All of WoW is quite big, Rashka. Not everyone has diskspace for that kind of backuping. Just the WTF folder is easy and small, but the rest is too big. But as he just established, TRP do not store their info in the WTF folder at all. It has it in the interface folder.
