Re: Westbrook Prison
With regards to the SSF's wishes to use Westbrook as their headquarters: there has been a change of plans as proposed by Darkios through Hex.
SSF members will be ICly transferred and divided amongst the guard guilds in good OOC discussion. As this is a little bit off-topic for this thread, I will gladly give you more details upon request.

Re: Westbrook Prison
The Stockades entrance is extremely small and boring.
It would do well as a replacement for the current use of the CC basement. It is not suited for a "more prison-y" prison, like the one that's been discussed in the Council subforum and presented here.
1: It has nothing but rats and a single room.
2: It's dark and boring all over.
3: Still just a single room. No cells, mess halls, torture rooms, no nothing.
Sure, arranging it like Iriel's drawing would be possible, but it'd not match the actual looks of the location one bit. Sort of like when you meet characters that are half-octopus cyborgs according to their mrps. Something's off.

While i am neither a Guard nor a Criminal, i do give my few cents.
Stockades while being nearer is a very dull and one-colored environment.
Westbrook Garrison while being further away have much more objects, better lightning, different rooms and generally would work better as a long term prison. If you consider the travel distance a problem, just shove your criminals in a cart with bars and use Horses to speed over the distance.

That wasn't exactly the issue at the time but a bunch of seagull saying: mine mine mine
cheeky comment out
But it has been sorted so it's all good now

Yet it was a suggestion over some problem with the westbrok location and that was an alternative but there's no issues now

Let's make sure this is put into effect then and go over it at the next council meeting. To make sure things are changed. Let's not just drop it there.

Re: Westbrook Prison
Do we need Council approval of this? As far as I am concerned we can get started the moment someone is arrested

You don't NEED council approval of anything.

Re: Westbrook Prison
A prison is all well and good but to be perfectly honest their needs to be more change than just a prison the whole dynamic between criminal and guard needs to change; some mistakes done in the past need to be learnt/remembered.
Stuff I think we discussed.
Things like the realization of consequences on both sides for what we do and where we do it.(criminals+Guards)
Not being each others wooden dummies as neither side is there for the glory of another, if anything it is a symbiosis.
Mutual Respect, this entails to things like being somewhat mindful that it's a bit of a poor show breaking someone out at 3am in the morning, least try and break out when people are online and perhaps talk to an officer/GM maybe ( No meta)
Not relying solely on them cells, it has it's place, such as people logging out and stuff but would probably be nice to get the criminals out once and awhile and make them do stuff, scrub the cathedral steps or re-arrange rocks in the old barracks, unblocking the guard-houses toilets; anything you can think of really
That's only a handful of stuff as well, a bigger prison is nice, allows the guard guilds to share the load, but it doesn't do squat if we don't work at other things as well, prisons are by no means the end all solution.
