The seal of aproval needs an actual seal being pounced by a "lion".

I spent like 2 minutes on that, just combining things I already had. Too lazy.

So in all seriousness. Avoid Creating the character on the alliance, it ACTUALLY makes sense on the horde.

A non-magic approach would still be okay for Alliance though? Idk if they're taking that option.

How does one train a spider?
I can literally only see the idea working with your original idea, nope. The one about the trolls.
But that is just my 5c.

To be fair, a lot of species we see hunters running around with are damn impossible to tame irl. You might get some luck with a lion in captivity but if you ran out to wrangle ahold of a wild one, odds are you would just...die. And big cats sometimes accidentally kill their handlers anyway because what's a playfight to them is "oops my artery burst" to a human.

The Forsaken have some spider thing going for them in Hillsbrad if that helps, so there's a precedent for spiders listening to you.

But again, you're proving your original point...horde.
Spiders only seem to have an affinity to really dark magic or undeath. Reason being: There is nothing to eat.

To be fair, they've been tamable since...Vanilla? And sometimes you can get unintelligent things to not eat you eg [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (inb4 it eats him). I think there's probably some 'its a fantasy setting' handwave in place for living people taming spiders, else it just kind of complicates things with having to go "oh you can do this with game mechanic but not really".

Up to the OP. You can technically do anything....but if not done well/masterfully it'll just come across as silly.

The French see rabbits as food (which makes me sad Sad ) but they still keep them as pets.

I don't really see the issue with this at all. People keep spiders IRL and get along with them just fine. Obviously you don't take them out with you to hunt orcs but not many people do that with their pet wolves/tigers/bears either.

There's no reason why your character couldn't get along with spiders. If you know what makes them tick you can earn their loyalty, same as with any other animal. It's fair to assume they're more intelligent than real spiders, like you'd assume for any other tameable beast in WoW, because you can't give commands to a gorilla or a crocodile IRL.

Personally I'd choose worgen for the race (or human and say it's Gilnean). You could play an old-fashioned harvest-witch (still with the hunter class) so you'd have a magical affinity for nature, but not be a proper druid. Or just a normal worgen/human could work because there's no reason they couldn't tame a spider. Nelf would also be fine because they have an affinity for nature and I'm sure you could work out how to get a pet spider in your thousands of years of living.

So, I don't really see any problem with it. It's almost like people on DefiasRP just like to shoot down ideas for the sake of it. Suspect

Make it a human hunter who grew up in Theramore (dat swamp) and practices some strange voodoo. You could even be ic:ly an assassin who uses spiders to brew poisons to kill things! Human because they're flexible and hunter so you can actually present those spiders.

Well no. The OP asked for opinions. Opinions were given. But no one can physically stop them doing what they want, because at the end of the day, they are just opinions.

Not to shoot the idea down but Theramore has only existed since sometime after the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], which kind of limits it to...Ten-ish years ago. So you could've still grown up there, just not from infancy.

IRL spiders are not hunter pets. There is a reason they choose to hunt foxes with hounds over spiders.

Do they still hunt foxes? I rather have them do it with spiders, so they can't even properly hunt. Boh.

I do sometimes wonder how many domestic cats would it take to kill a small deer.

I dunno for small dear, or full on domestic cat. But a outside living cat can take on a rabbit, that's for sure.
