Damnation's Call - Rp-Pvp Campaign
Damnation's Call
War Cometh
Night began to loom over the forest of Silverpine. The already light-deprived vegetation shivered as the dead air of the Glades began to lackadaisically waltz its way through the rotten land. The Keep looked upon itself in the nebulous gloom of Lordamere Lake, its murky reflection not being merciful its once fine façade tired and decayed. Yet from the dystopia of the keep flew a blackened flag. A flag tapered with the crown of the “Graven Throne”. The Keep was in residence.
“Click” –echoed a cacophony of footsteps.
With a gust of wind, the flag splayed its figure to the world. The flag of the sister of vengeance, the Hand of Damnation imposingly raised upon the pole. Signalling one atrabilious and ambitious motive.War comes.
The great doors of the auditorium burst open. The Arch-Apothecary began to slowly pace his way down the isle of the hall purposefully, his darkened robes sweeping the rotten floorboards.
“Click, thud thud, swish” – more footsteps were added to the light timpani.
He snapped his calculating gaze to the two figures flanking him, a second robed figure clad in shadows and bowman. Upon the face of the Arch-Apothecary rested a contorted grin, held by an extensive system of putrid stitching and taught strings.
“Enlighten me, Executor, with minimal foofaraw. Are our forces ready to be deployed, Hrrmph?” Questioned the Arch-Apothecary, his voice ringing with an imposing aplomb.
“Yes Arch-Apothecary, Sir.”
Click click, thud thud, swish – Creeeeeeeak.
The Arch-Apothecary stopped, clasping his gnarled hands, his gaze speeding to a moth-eaten tapestry of a map of Lordaeron and its surrounding lands, hanging limply on the dilapidated wall.
“Indoneous, is this second in eternity for our –libertine- plan to take action. Malacophonous, we have stayed with the entire atrabilious Orcish hullabaloo.” The Arch-Apothecary moved to the tapestry.
“Click click – Creeeeeeak – SNAP” – The Rotten floorboards grumbled.
Too many of the Horde’s outposts had fallen due to the foolery of others – perhaps lost for ever. Despite the woeful situation, it was certitude in the mind of Arch-Apothecary Haluthious Vouten that an attempt should be made at reclaiming them.
“Muster the riders. Ride to our ‘allies.’ The laceration of the foes and the returning of our birth-rights are upon us. May all those milquetoast flee in our wake.”
“What shall they be told, Arch-Apothecary?” The second robed figure cooed in a velvety voice, his voice cracking and echoing in the waves of shadow undulating about his figure.
The Arch-Apothecary turned sharply on his heel. His hued gaze glaring with ambition as they shifted to the shadowy figure.

- Damnation's Call Campaign Information:
- Damnation’s Call
The Damnation Call’s campaign is a 10 day long RP-PVP event in and around Lordaeron from the 8’th to the 18’th of December. This campaign is a Horde initiative, based on the intentions of the Horde Gathering and the power hungering and manipulation of the Forsaken. The purpose of said campaign is to reclaim the outposts of the Horde. The Campaign itself will have a number of major battles including; Tol Barad, Stromgarde and Mountains of Alterac.
There are no pre-set conditions of how this campaign will turn out, other than the fact the Horde has a plan to attack certain locations. Therefore the story of this campaign is based upon the In-Character decisions and actions.
Roleplay Action.
Throughout the campaign you will be allowed to make a number of In-Character “roleplay actions” to help you in your IC campaign. We as the organisers ask you to be creative in this. This event is not just about PvP, it is about the art of roleplay. So incorporating this into your campaign will certainly make it a lot more fun!
Example of Roleplay action: The use of siege engines to lay siege to an encampment, the use of barricades blocking roads. Etc etc
It should be noted that any major IC interaction must be consulted and agreed with the event’s organisers. This will allow us to act fairly to both Alliance and Horde side and prevent any drama related issues.
In addition, we ask that there should be no Roleplay action that has a consequence that majorly affects the Battles. As much as I personally would like to simply “Blight you all to death” – I won’t be doing that. Aim to keep the RP-Action separate from your W-PvP.
Rp-pvp battles.
In the campaign, it will become apparent that there will be two different types of battles. “Big Battles” and “Skirmishes.”
Big Battles
We have organised three “Big battles” in this campaign. This is where the full force of each opposing fraction will be shown! The locations for these fights are Tol barad, Stromgarde and the Frost wolf lands of Alterac.
Timetable: 8’th December – Tol Barad.
15’th December- Stromgarde
18’th December – Alterac.
These battles are the “deciders” and what the main basis of the campaign is based upon. Winning and losing these areas will result in IC gain or loss of the area.
Skirmishes.
Skirmishes are smaller battles that you personally can arrange yourself. A system will be set up on Skype for people who are looking for small skirmishes when there are “free days” (days with no big battles.) Skirmishes do not affect the main objectives of the campaign. The Skirmishes may of course lead to difficulties for –Other- opposing encampments during the time of the campaign (i.e encampments not in the objectives of the campaign). However these will not be permanent. At the end of the campaign, everything will return to normal for the Horde or Alliance encampments that have come under fire, and whatever force you sent to make this difficulty will be defeated. In addition, there are a few areas that are off-limits, due to a heavy NPC influence making any possible In-Character assault impossible. Including:
Silverpine
Tirisfal Glades
Bulwark
Southpoint Gate
Should a skirmish take place, it is the job of those participating to inform the Organisers of the outcome. If they want their actions acknowledged.
Please note: Rules still apply. Should there be any misconduct and or infringement of the rules you are to notify one of the organisers. Persistent issues may lead to banning from the rest of the Campaign.
- Rules :
- Campaign In-House rules.
-Don't "Rage Whisper" to the non-Roleplaying Gankers killing you. This will only humour them further and encourage them to continue. Just repay the favour by murdering them and be done with it.
-No Flying mounts during fights.
-No Combat ressing (Unless told otherwise.)
-Numbers of people per fight will be balanced, to have even sides and ensure both sides having fun. You may be asked to wait for your turn, and we ask that you do so patiently as it is in the interests of everyone to play fair.
-For the campaign, No one is allowed to have an item level over 522. This is an attempt to remove the imbalance between PvP gear and PvE gear. (This will be monitored in-game, so we can create fair balanced fights.)

- Battle of Tol Barad - 8/12/13:
- A tattered blue flag fluttered aimless amidst the sea of red from Baradin Hold. Ripped and creased the proud icon of the Golden Lion was dirtied, its lambent sheen faded. Blood stained its royal blue background, nothing but a symbolic microcosm of what had occurred on the sea-fortress of Tol Barad. The wind lifted the flag, pulling it from its rails, submitting itself to the blood stained earth – It no longer belonged in Tol Barad
The forsaken driven motive to return the Outposts of the Horde had begun. The mustering of the Horde war bands amassed on the Peninsula of Tol Barad a day before the day of reclamation, embittered and restless, vast numbers of Horde had arrived. All seeking to set aside the failures of previous delinquents.
The Horde’s forces immediately sought to control the Peninsula’s heart, the Darkwood. The Alliance, though brave and courageous were beaten back by the wave under the commandof Chieftain Rargnasha Bloodmark. The Horde’s endeavour to control the Darkwood, was useful. Though this was an asthenic victory and of little use. Manoeuvring quickly, they used their newly claim piece of turf to set in motion their true endeavour and plan. Storm the docks.
Wellson Shipyard, a most tactically opportune position. The Arch-Apothecary Haluthious Vouten led the assault to the Alliance encampment. Victorious, was the fight, but it was costly. The particular location Docks made it prone to naval retaliation from the Alliance – this was accounted for in the Horde’s grand plan. Fire-bombs from the Apothecarium of the “Hand of Damnation” quickly made short work of the Alliance ships; searing a message of the Alliance’s defeat into their former encampment, leaving he docks, sabotaged and broken.
The Alliance regrouped and reformed. Not prepared to lose another encampment, their tremendous combined efforts fended off the two waves of the Horde at Rustberg Village. Their hold on the Village is strong, giving the Alliance a foothold in the east of the Peninsula.
Despite the conviction of the Alliance, the Horde gained entry to the main Isle of Tol Barad, and were Victorious. Tol Barad, was now in the Horde’s control. The bloodied battle was marked with losses on both sides – to the delightful glee of the Forsaken. The dead of the Alliance were taken to the ethereal winged Val’kyr, reanimation, a just reward for those Alliance who fell. More wood for the pyre, more servants for the Graven Throne.
Peace, is but a lie. The Alliance already making that abundantly clear through their previous attacks on the Horde, the revenge of the Horde has begun.
The Horde has been successful in reclaiming Tol Barad.Horde Victory
- Skirmish Update - 12/12/13:
- In the Damnation's Call Campaign, we'll be trying out a Skirmish System. It will function like this;
A conversation group is set up on skype where everyone taking part in the campaign, regardless of rank and status, can join- As long as they want to take part in these skirmishes!
To be invited to the Skirmish group on skype, add Kronhjorten to your friendlist and write your character name and faction, along with the word 'Skirmish'. If you get several different people when searching for Kronhjorten, then Im the one with a Horde banner as his picture.
Here's an example.
____________________________________________________
Siegmund is sitting around camp feeling bored. He gives some of his friends a poke and ask if they're up for collecting some horde skulls.
6 agree.
Now Siegmund asks in the skype group if there's any horde people who wants to fight, and that he've got a group of 7 from alliance.
The Horde the gathers a group to match their strength, the two agree on something to fight about (Can be patrols clashing, or two parties fighting for dominance over some small area, someone attacking an escorted caravan, people can use their creativity!) The two eventually decide that they'll play out the scenario of a group of Horde soldiers has been harvesting mana crystals from the Dalaran crater, the alliance then attacks the Horde soldiers three times at random locations throughout their travel from the wall to Hammerfall - Each time the alliance wins, they manage to steal more of the precious crystals!
Then the two groups duke it out, and once they're done, the winner sends a message to one of the co-ordinators (Rargnasha, Haluthious, Inran or other people who are alliance co-ordinators) with who won and what was fought about.
____________________________________________________
A few points of interest could already be the Circles of Binding in Arathi Highlands, just to mention something!
(Alterac and Stromgarde are off limits though, as they will be used for the deciding battles!)
Once the groups have fougth and decide that they're done, the winner contacts a campaign co-ordinator (Haluthious or Rargnasha for Horde, Inran for Alliance) with the results – As what people do will count towards the overall story of the campaign! This can be done through Private messages on the Defias RP forum or using the ingame mail system.
(Victories that are not reported to co-ordinators, cannot be taken into account for the campaign story!)
Please notice that in order to make life easier for those using the skirmish skype group, all banter not related to the skirmishes should be taken elsewhere!
The basic rules for the skirmishes are the same for the campaign – However, people are free to alter the rules for skirmishes as they please! Want to duke it out in full PvE gear? Go for it! However, should your rules vary from those used for the main battles – Remember to notify your opponent and ask them if they're up for it!

I might be active on all two, if not all three sides of the fence, depending on how things pan out.

I would just like to point out that it is not sure if the Shatterskull Marauders will be participating.
It mostly depends in In-Character politics.

By being a Neutral Panda who tries to bestow their wisdom on the Horde and Alliance not to bash eachother in the heads? If from personal point-of-view though as a Blademaster, you can always hang by around Ravenholdt Manor. They're neutral (neutral enough).Though I must ask, how is one 'neutral' in such a campaign?

Oh I just meant incase one side should aid the other in some way. Like the old argent guild did for the alliance in andorhal, resulted in a lot of dead argents...Inran/Skarain wrote:By being a Neutral Panda who tries to bestow their wisdom on the Horde and Alliance not to bash eachother in the heads? Amaryl I'm one of those people who think we should be able to wear whatever we want and use (almost) every ability when it comes to PVP, although right now the gap between PVP and PVE gear is way too big outside BGs and arenas. Hopefully such limitations won't be needed anymore in Warlords of Draenor, apparently PVP and PVE gear will have the same iLvl but different stats.

Re: Damnation's Call - Rp-Pvp Campaign
I'm not against reducing the gap. The problem lies with enforceability. its just not fun to check through everyone's gear, and look at their trinkets/rings/etc... and neither do that prevent people from switching after gear check. and then people find out... or a simple rumor on one side that the otherside is using dreaded pve gear... that shit just causes drama.
the point isn't that the gear is fair... the problem is that when rules cannot be enforced, or when the enforcement thereof you create an even bigger and arguably worse gap, between cheaters and the ones playing by the rules.
Again, this isn't an argument regarding the OPness of pve gear(and the people that are able to devote time to collect them(everybody could have that gear if they really wanted to.) but a point in drama-prevention.
And that's the last thing i'll say about this, since every RP-PVP initiative is one I support full heartedly, but it is something to keep in mind.
