Righty, while it certainly has nothing to do with RP. A thread about the Gnome racials, now you may think this is mere favoritism, but that's not entirely the case. Gnome racials are exceptionally weak. Actually, they're likely the weakest in the game. So I wish to highlight this thread so that more people can see it.

You're aware that with blizzard trying to balance PVP trinkets to make sure EMFH isn't the end all be all choice for PVP, Escape Artist is probably one of the strongest racials for melee classes, right?

Also, you really don't know how base mana works. Your spells cost a % of your base mana. Your racial doesn't increase your base mana, it increases your total mana. Thus your spell cost stays the same regardless of that racial and you really do get 5% more spells cast with it.

Furthermore, with the removal of expertise, your dagger/1h sword racial has been changed to 1% haste, which is one of the better throughput racials.

In fact, I believe the general consensus on the beta right now is that for melee, gnomes are on the top 3 for best set of racial abilities, alongside human and nelf.

Perhaps you guys should research a little before you start declaring this a serious issue.

Wasn't really any need to post it on both threads, given that anyone with curiosity would've read it anyway.

I suppose this could be something worth mentioning in-case anyone here is hearing impaired, but want to know what they say in the Lords of War cinematics.

So I just noticed, but apparently the server merge and creation of a new server forum has caused the DefiasRP sticky to get unstickied.

So yeah. That's an issue. Someone should probably make a new one. Otherwise, only people who will be finding this place will be by word of mouth.

Relevant to cross-faction RP, and it's communication. Suggest you give it a read

How do you guys plan to attract people to defiasrp.com since all of them have their own RP forums after the merger? I do not think that they will just accept to come here?

Like it or not but from what I've seen has most non-defias people aranged themself after DBs "rules and standards" because the large majority are still DB-natives. I havn't seen anyone really having a problem with it.

The Defias Battle.net topic. - Page 5 Empty [Realm Forum] - why we really should use it more.

Post by Krogon Devilstep Thu Jan 22, 2015 6:11 pm

Realm Forum

What is this? Well, funny you should ask. Of late, dare I say this last year, I've noticed our realm forum (thats [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) turn from a dissused and often forgotten thing occasionally full of bumps for RP guild recruitment threads, become one swarmed over by W-pvp/pvp/Griefers guilds. We have lost our main forum. Though many will shrug and not much care about this, I beg you to reconsider, though this forum (DefiasRP) has its used, it essentially over the years has made us reclusive and hard to reach. Don't get me wrong, this place has uses but we really can't just hide and shy away here. And furthermore, all this has some long term effects...

1 - the RP community looks non-existant. We get no coverage, all the while other guilds such as , yes a guild who's sole purpose is to annoy us, gets better promotion than us.

2 - It leads to the continued (but more hastened) decline of RP populations.

3- More W-pvpers will flock here seeing that its a haven for their 'wants'.

So, what can we do I hear you ask? well, simple.

1 - Post/bump your guild recruitment threads on the realm forum. regularly, give them a bump/nudge every two days by cycling between officers/guild members. Add some gentle conversation to keep it active.

2 - Place queries, game threads, story's and everything else random on up there. Our game related section is stuff with threads that are worthy of the realm forum, everything from "your characters voice" to questionaires.

3 - Avoid confrontation with Griefers/trolls, but be aggressive in how you 'dislike' and report bad behaviour on the forum. I myself this last weeks have been reporting several people and had great success... if you want to know more about how to do this, what language to use, or what to do... check out these pages!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

4 - Make threads on the core RP website ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]). DB needs advertising beyond its own borders, and this forum is great for adverts.

All in all this is a plea from me. If your a Gm/guild officer, copy paste your threads over, promote your guild and roleplay, constructively report and 'dislike' offensive behaviour and ensure our forum, yes our forum, stays very much ours.

Give me a /sign (then actually go do some of this stuff) and lets get the ball rolling! if anyone has any questions/suggestions/gripes, drop a message in here.

While i rarely do have anything to post on itself, i skulk Realm Forums and RP forums to answer to any questions about Roleplaying that a person curious about the realm is interested of asking.

As thus, I do support this myself, at least in the terms of posting Roleplaying related information. The server/community could use more advertisement.

So far though, neither me or her have found the time to write anything solid.

Edit: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

But yes, if what you mean is a gathered a chunk of information about the RP on the RP-PvP servers in effort of advertisement and luring roleplay-interested people to the server, i for one support such an idea.

Could it be possible to try to gather material for such by posting a thread on defiasrp.com and Realm Forums, and ask people to describe the roleplaying on the RP-PvP servers with their own words? That way, we get multiple opinions, and can combine the various posts of people into one large, accurate picture to serve as a server/community advertisement.

Better upboat the hell out of that post cause it's gonna face the wrath of uppity, privileged RP snobs (*cough*AD*chortle*) who think there's no room for RP recruitment threads on the RP forums.
