[H] Festival of Belore
((As discussed in the Silvermoon Council session on the 22nd of January, there's the proposal to put forward the Festival of Belore.))
((Now all that remains is to discuss dates. Ideally, would like this to coincide with the Lunar Festival event thats going on, for the purposes of fireworks and decoration IC explanations. Anyone else got any ideas?))
Recent events have culminated in tragedies for our people, ranging from the devestation wrought by the Scourge, then our damnation by the Alliance under Garithos, then the betrayel by our own Prince Kael’thas, and most recently the Purging of the Sunreavers and the Horde from Dalaran which resulted in many of our people either being imprisoned within the Violet Hold, or slain by the Alliance and the Silver Covenant.
With the continuation of the War in the distant shores of Pandaria, our blood is being spilled for Garrosh’s prizes, for his goals… What I propose is something to remember the fallen by, something to honour their memories, even if the Warchief does not. Thus, I propose the Festival of Belore. A time where every citizen of Quel’thalas can forget their troubles for a time and pay homage to our fallen warriors, our fallen brothers, our fallen sisters. A time to look back on what we have managed to accomplish thanks to their sacrifices. We are still alive. We survived the Scourge. We survived Garithos. We survived our Princes treachery. We survived Proudmoores Purge…
We will survive this war.
We are the Sin’dorei, descendents of the Highborne, Masters of the arcane arts, benders of the Light itself to our will. We will honour the dead, we will mourn for them, but we will celebrate what they managed to help the living achieve. Look upon our city as an example. The Scourge wiped out our city, reduced it to nothing but rubble and wasteland… and yet here it stands, a shining beacon to all elven kind, a symbol that our flame will not be extinguished.

I was like "Oh yeah, awesome!" but then...

I wouldn't mind getting involved in this. Scuzy can preach like no other, and she could use some elven friends.

Why not both? Have a service, and a feast!Well, I was personally wondering... Will the theme be a happy one, or a mourning one?

*eyes Scuzy* don't we still have a warrant for murder on her?

Well technically yes, but seeing as how noone could be arsed to chase her around for six months, and barely anyone from that orginal plotline is around anymore...Kristeas Sunbinder wrote:*eyes Scuzy* don't we still have a warrant for murder on her?
I think it would be best to just drop it. I don't think anyone is really interested in perusing that story. I don't mind getting arrested for it after all this time, but there has to be someone involved that actually cares about watching that story come to a conclusion.
If you still really want to arrest her, go ahead. I'm sure the marauders wouldn't mind an excuse to trash Silvermoon.
I sense a bonding moment coming up for Scuzy and Cenalia.Gor'Thrak Frosthowl wrote:benders of the Light itself to our will.

Maybe, but just because nobody will do something about by itself won't mean it won't factor in if she is caught red-handed again.

Just to be clear, red-handed means caught in the act, right? As in, doing it again?Kristeas Sunbinder wrote:Maybe, but just because nobody will do something about by itself won't mean it won't factor in if she is caught red-handed again.

Yep, so if we see you killing someone in Silvermoon again, we will make the following remark:"Again?!"

Good enough.
Write "I won't kill people just because I feel like it" 100 times.

Haha! Well, we don't have any enforcers in town, but warrant should still act in SMC... I think.
So she might be in trouble if someone, let's say a former judge who was in the same room, recognised her and requested her arrest.
Ofcourse, that same judge was thrown out due to grabbing more power than she had, but eh!

It is all part of the great warlock conspiracy to plunge the cosmos into eternal chaos and darkness.
Not on my watch!!
---
Aaaanyway, back to the festival of the sun; Love the idea. Pick a date, and I shall be there, and make sure it's up on the Shatterskull Calendar as well!
Also, if you are looking for speakers an need someone to talk on the Light of Belore and such, you can give me a poke.

Re: [H] Festival of Belore
((Wow... my email said only one reply to this... I take a look and we're onto a second page... Just wondering where the heretic part came from as well... the Sin'dorei did actually bend the Light to their will. Naaru imprisoned and all that for a good part of the Burning Crusade expansion if I recall correctly.
The theme of it is both sad and happy. Mourning the dead, but also celebrating their accomplishments etc. And sure, come along. What I'm thinking is that there would be a feast or two, a little mini psuedo tourney to declare a champion for a day type of thing, fireworks display, and random speeches provided by the festival goers
At any rate, what would you guys think about say... February 6th? Say around... 21:00 server time or so?))

Exactly. Bending the Light like that for selfish means is no good! Or atleast it's not in Cen's eyes.
I'll probably still attend though, looks lovely.

Can I get a confirmation on the date, so I can poke my officers to stick it on the guild calendar?
Thanks.

Re: [H] Festival of Belore
((Since there seems to be no objections, the 6th of February at 21:00 server time it is then
It'll be held on the Sunstrider Isle in the Eversong Woods as that is where the monument to Dath'Remar, the Founder and First King of Quel'thelas presides.
The psuedo tournament will be one on one combatants in this manner of arrangement.
Each pairing will duel one another at the same time as the other pairs. Once those bouts are done, they then get paired with the winner of the other bouts and so on and so forth till we have an eventual winner. (is really hoping not a pair of warriors for the final match or else we will never see an end to the fighting )
Of course it depends on how many people wish to partake of the largely honourary tournament as their is no prize other than a sense of esteem and pride. People will be allowed to make speeches throughout the event if they so please. There will be an opening ceremony with the gathered council and some fireworks, and then at the official end of the event which would be after the tournament and speeches, there will be a closing ceremony and then a &%$£ ton of fireworks.
Everyone attending is encouraged to bring their own firework(s) as well so we can make one truly spectacular show. Depending on how well this goes, we may even see this become an annual event ))
