The useful roleplay addon thread. Post addons you would like to share with others that you find useful or have the possibility to be useful to someone and I shall keep this thread updated. Could be expanded to PvE and PvP after a while.

Character enhancement/profiles:

TotalRP2:

Contains sound files, bags, items, states, personality and description sheets and more. Definitely prefer this over MRP, although you rarely use all the functions.

Text-based:

Misspelled:

An addon that highlights any spelling mistakes and offers suggestions when right clicking for correct spellings.

UnlimitedChatMessage:

An addon that removes the 244 max character limit and allows you to write your emotes or whatever without boundaries. It breaks them up into smaller 244 character size chunks and posts them one by one.

Tongues:

Enables you to speak and understand most languages seen ingame that you normally can't for those using the same addon. Quite simple to use. To get work with TotalRP2 go: Settings > Interface > Disable (set yes) chat function & language functions.

Prat

Chat addon that shortens the chat box, gives you time messages before all chat messages, be it NPC, yell, trade, etc, as well as giving levels before names and colours names according to class. You can also set it to include RP names.

Elephant

Logs up to the last 1000 lines in every channel you are in, allowing you to save or read over previous discussions/RP with ease.

Armor/Outfits/Items:

Atlasloot Enhanced

AtlasLoot Enhanced is an UI mod allowing for loot tables of bosses to be browsed whenever needed within the game. Great for creating the perfect roleplay set and finding out where to get the items.

Most roleplayers will already know this but it's good to put here anyway. Creating custom items in-game.

An addon that allows you to change what race you want to view in the dressing room, quite handy with Mogit.

General UI Enhancements

Giving yourself that cinematic view by making a black bar at bottom and top really adds to the feel of roleplaying. It gives a bit of a movie sense.
Suggestion: /vp bottom 143 and /vp top 143- but you choose yourself obviously.

Selecting pieces of text and copying it, or the fact as mentioned above, clicking links to get a copy for it, is two of the reasons I love Prat.

Alerts you to any nearby stealth activity. While it won't let you see them, it allows you to prepare for a possible attack.

Alerts you to almost any nearby enemy player activity, thus allowing you to easily tell when enemy players are around. ABoC uses this addon to find players even if they're hiding in structures or using camo potions, so you might as well use it yourself to alert you so you can prepare to defend yourself (like putting on that PvP gear you still haven't transmogged).

I would like to point out to everyone who keeps mistaking the 'Currently' window on the MRP/TRP2 addons for some sort of description box of your character's appearance and the like...

... it is NOT FOR SUCH! It is for what the character is doing at the time being (example Currently: Standing guard), not for telling history that always gets cut short anyway or lenghty descriptions of your appearance which also gets cut short.

i always use the currently for temporary changes to a toons looks.. usualy along the lines of "is bandaged here here and here.. or is caryring an unusual backpack today or is going home with a shopping trolley full of food" etc

That's more or less what the currently section has always been used for, Monrena.

I think if someone is near your character, they can quite plainly see that you're guarding. Also, I've never seen stuff from currently getting cut short.

Always used the currently box for appearance changes that differ from the character description, and I always will :p Because that's what it's for.

I believe that he confusion comes from that TRP2 (at least back when I played). The description showed up in the "Current" box for MRP users.

Bloody flawed addon if it "clash" with MRP like that then. What is so special about TRP2 that MRP can't do anyway?

Nothing needed for roleplaying. Just eat more memory (imo)

Icons.
Better profile control.
Current Info that doesn't get cut off.
Mood States. (Angry, Sad, Smell of Blood, Asthma).
Surnames in chatbox. (If desired).

It's overall better.
