What's your character's favourite movie?

Okay, so let's disregard the obvious questions regarding the logic of how your in-game characters would be aware of real-life motion pictures and just focus on the character bits!

What kind of movie would really appeal to your characters? What genres would they enjoy the most, who are their favourite actors, and what, to them, would be the movie they hold above all others as a defining piece of entertainment for themselves, or even massively inspirational pieces? These questions may seem odd, but like with real people, all the little things that define us say so much about us.

Besides, it's a bit tricky to think of anything outside of the movies you personally enjoy, or so I find.

Merandil would probably be really into RomComs or family films, because he really likes to slip away from his reality into the soft, fluffy, largely peaceful and harmless world of romantic comedy.

His favourite might be something like the Wizard of Oz, though. A charming, brightly coloured adventure all about escaping from the grim real world into a magical fantasy of bright flowers and friendly talking animals, where good's triumph over evil is overt, obvious and easily achieved.

Jeanpierre: Bambi or the special extended version of some church mass.

Sadok would likely enjoy film-noir detective films or WWII propaganda films.

Ueeehhh. Probably movies that involve a lot of bravado and random "epicness". For Koz, it would probably be among the likes of Mongol, or any western such as the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

For Gakrath, my little more brutish-like warrior, it would be your random run-off-the-mill action flicks, like anything involving Chuck Norris or any bad movie made by Steven Seagal. Or, of course, Conan the Barbarian.

I don't know what kind of movies Dru would enjoy. I think she'd probably be more interested in documentaries and history programs, something that allows her to explore and learn more about the world. She'd like darker but still rather 'fantastical' movies, with clearly good heroes and evil villains (Hero's Journey movies, basically), but she'd also like sitcoms and family dramas that explore a life that she's never had much opportunity to experience herself. She'd empathize with darker characters with lots of flaws, as they'd remind her of herself, and their being able to overcome their flaws and become a real hero would be something that appeals to her.

anyway for chareshia it would be a whole array of disney movies and mabie sliding doors, her favorate actor would be jonny depp she would go week an the knees I tell ya!

For an idea of what dreth looks like think of a younger Barbossa. Did anyone see a Geoffrey Rush film called Quills btw?

Saevir would greatly enjoy watching Primer. (He'd probably have an easier time wrapping his head around it than I did, too). The theme of The Dark Knight would most likely get his approval as well.
