Canelled [A and H] Supplies for Gilneas.

IC - What happend before:

A few days ago Isabis received an unfortunate message. She learned a Gilnean she deemed a good friend had fallen in battle, trying to defend Gilneas against the Forsaken. This news stressed her so much, she even lost her ability to maintain her human form due to grief and anger. A few minutes after the first erratic emotions she was able reclaim her sanity, lose her Worgen form and immediately she secluded herself to prayer and meditation.

The first few days after the message, the light blessed her with a few new friends in Stormwind, and she was certain this was her new home. Still she felt that Gilneas was calling her, and she had to close this Chapter once and for all.

Following this feeling, she set out on her Drake accompanied by a good friend and guardian, a kal'dorei to Gilneas. She fully understood the dangers of her endeavour, but couldn’t resist the urge to travel to her birthplace. While constantly scanning the environment for dangers, be those in the air or from the ground, they both fairly easy made it to what’s left of Gilneas. Isabis was surprised by the state of the Cathedral, it felt as if it was perfectly preserved under the amount of stress Gilneas had to suffer. She walked into the building, fell to her knees and prayed for Gilneas, prayed for her friend and friends, for the ‘then, the now, and tomorrow’. Having fulfilled her urge, she walked out of the cathedral, her friend keeping a respectful distance.

“Let us go hom..,” Isabis didn’t finish the sentence. She looked at her friend, his gaze fixed on an alley, one hand on his blade, the other gently pushing Isabis behind him.
“What’s wrong?”, Isabis asked him. Without replying he gestured Isabis to remain in front of the Cathedral. Stealth fully he made his way to the alley, he assessed the situation and deemed it safe enough for Isabis to listen in on the two figures standing in the distance.

“Those are Gilnean, I knew the city wasn’t forfeit!”, without fear she stepped towards the two figures busy discussing matters concerning Gilneas, only shortly after to be welcomed by more of her kind, and discussing matters to rebuilt Gilneas.
OOC - What happens after.

First of all, thank you for reading and I hope any grammar or typos weren’t a reason for you to make a right turn. This will be my first attempt at organising an event, and I’ve rolled into the idea yesterday. I was wondering if there were people rp’ing in Gilneas and it seemed a few people were, from the Greymane Era. I’ve discussed ( IC ) plans to bring in resources to Gilneas, assessing threats from the forsaken, discussing many other means and basically I want to organise a (hopefully) massive fleet of flying mounted players bringing in medicine, building materials, weapons and such for the Greymane Era.

Now, I’m still awaiting a response from their leader, so all of this is still a concept ( Be it one I will do everything to realise). I would love to know if people would be interested in partaking. Isabis has set up a business like structure called the Investors Union and Isabis will pay a good amount of gold to have people come along, so it will be interesting for people playing mercenaries or people who simply wish to be paid gold for their services. Isabis will also look for people who of course simply want to aid this cause. Having Forsaken or any Horde trying to interfere with the fleet of resources would be more then welcome!

Let me know what you people think. Criticism is more then welcome! And let me know if you’re willing to partake so I can get a good view of how many would like to come, also describe if you would fulfil a mercenary like roll (thus being paid) or a good-guy kinda roll (coming along to aid and such). And if you’re horde, if you would like to come/interfere

If all goes well, I’ll design posters and such organising the event and setting a proper date.

It'd be very interesting and impressing to see a campain in the Gilneas area, both from the Horde & Alliance. I hope the outcome of this event will be a great success. ( The Kirin Tor isn't very happy with the situation losin approx: 1500 Mages at Ambermill, and might act in the favour for alliance. xD )

Gilneas is almost left untouched by the RP community, and it's a beautiful piece of art from Blizzard, waiting to be exploited.

The only downside for Gilneas is that it is heavily phased. Those of us that have done the wonderful Silverpine quest chain are unable to see those that have not - for example as horde I don't see alliance players on Gilneas when I am standing on their exact location on a friends screen.

I think Gilneas is a fantastic area for roleplay, just a shame that phasing makes it less able to be used for x-faction events.

If I'm not mistaken - and correct me if I am -, that only happens when you're doing a specific quest. I've noticed it too when I was doing the alliance quest lines together with a friend of mine, she couldn't see me and I couldn't see her. When the quest ended we could see each other again.

I'm afraid not, I completed the whole quest chain and cannot see those that haven't done it.

Mmmh. That could spoil it partially. Well, we'll see how it turns out.

Many people have already RPed in Gilneas without phasing problems.

Yeah depends on whether they did Silverpine. Its worth testing out. I just know I did silverpine with Arli but when I went to 'visit' alliance 'friends' at their guild meet in Greymane Manor, I was disappointed to find I couldn't see or hear them with Arli but could see them at that location on another screen as an alliance.

The Greymane Era, Three Hammers, Cult of Shadow, Sin Belore & Honest Dogs Company did a similar event to this without issues with phasing which essentially consisted a 'convoy' being escorted from Menethil Harbour and to Gilneas (taking place over two nights). It was pretty damned large actually, totalling around 25 or so people for each side (Horde prolly had less but I digress).

It worked out perfectly fine for both parties, the only downside was that with thanks to phasing we couldn't have any more WPvP attacks once we had reached the Gilneas zone but then logically the place is a stalemate of fighting anyways and we were pretty "PvP'ed out" by then.

I have to disagree really. Gilneas is hardly a thriving hub of 24/7 roleplay, but then again nowhere aside from Stormwind City is on both sides of the faction pond and even that has its downside. Still, we manage to have daily roleplaying there, whether it be events, casual, or WPvP on the Gilneas-Silverpine border with Cult of Shadow (and various other guilds of both sides if its of a larger scope). We have also put into plan.. well, a plan of better setting up a proper 'Gilneas RP' weekly event of sorts in Keel Harbour in order to attract more visitors there which will be posted shortly. Just because its not vocally thrown out about how gosh darned amazing the roleplay is, doesn't mean that it isn't there.

That and everybody who goes there whether it be worgen, human, gangster or death knight seems to try and claim a house for themselves.

I have yet to see any Horde roleplay in Gilneas that doesn't consist of flying in on their mounts and ganking the lowbie Alliance before planting a banner down and legging it to be honest. Yes, that includes roleplaying guilds.

Ah, an error on my inexpierence then. I've checked /who gilneas from time to time and didn't see many players there.

Perhaps a little to impulsive in organizing this concept. It seems an event of the same magnitude had already been organized. This event is on hold, maybe something will be worked out.

Shame, it sounded nice. Don't hold it just because it sounds complicated because it's not. The only problem is that most of the Horde can't see you in Gilneas, but all the Allaince can, and all can outside of Gilneas. It can work out well!

its very easy to RP in gilneas. however, at level 85 its impossible to pvp in it with the quests done.

a nice idea, shame it will be near impossible.
