Death Knight names?

Trying to think of a second name for my newly made Death Knight, when suddenly something occured to me. Koltira's second name is Deathweaver, which probably wasn't his second name when he was alive. So would it be prudent to give my death knight a more scourgey/death related second name, or would she revert to her old name upon being freed from the Scourge? Most people seem to go with the second option, but I'd like some opinions.

Really depends on what the dk's view on his/her state is, if it "does not want" i'd go for the original name.

Go for a scourgy name! your family no longer loves you and want nothing to do with you anyway.....

I'm guessing Koltira's last name when he was alive was Dawnweaver or Sunweaver.

It's just their own choice when it comes to changing their last name or not, depending on how emo or reliant upon death they are, or if they want to begin a new life after their resurrection.

Nordic words tend to work in my opinion.

I don't think all the existing DKs just pop out of existence once Arthas dies, so I don't understand what you mean. Eitherway, not really what I'm asking about

Thanks for the rest of the posts. My DK is a blood elf for those curious. I eventually decided to go with a slightly more scourgey-sounding name that still fits in and sounds like it could've been a blood elf one before.

Erm. Just to Clarify Arthas isn't the be all and end all of necromancry in warcraft ^.^, infact with the light focusing more on Cataclysm. I suspect more people will be roleplaying actual DK's.

It's quite easy, it always comes with something death like then add something to the end (usually bane), alot of DK's use their names from a previous life such as Darion, and alot of them only keep a first name or an alias

The reason they were accepted faction wide was the simple fact, they wanted to help kill Arthas. Arthas is dead, their order has no goals, and thusly must end themselves.

The Forsaken are a little more 'involved' now. They are a race that controls a great amount of land and their leader has other motives and goals to follow.

You shouldn't take your class into account when you name your character. Nobody is born to be a Death Knight. Etc.. Arthas was called Arthas when he was alive, still was when he became a DK. Same for Mograine.
You really should just take into account your race and gender, the class should not affect your name. In my opinion ofcourse.

You also have to take into account their emotional state they're in.

A lot of Forsaken changed their names because they wanted to start a new life, many saw anger and sadness in losing their family, so they changed their name. Take into account their past as well as the present because a lot of deadies would had been emotionally distraught if they had family and friends they lost, even their own past life is gone.

My character's first name is the same one she had when she was alive, I'm just asking because all of the Death Knight npcs that have second names have ones like Bloodbane, Deathweaver and whatnot. Doesn't seem like they would have those when they were alive
