Wales - The lesbian sister of Scotland and Ireland and home of sheep. Well, we went to Snowdonia/Angelsee for five days last week and plenty of photos were taken so I figured what the hoo-har:

Re: Trip to Wales
That place does not look "awesome". It's beautiful! I always pictured Wales to be something like that but I remember when I went to Wessex (south east England?) way back, it was all just rolling green hills and uh <3. (But if you really want to see beauty then go to the south of France!) Haha anyways, it looks like a very nice trip so hope you had fun .

I always imagined Gunnell as a surly old man, not a young guy with a goatee

The camera wasn't all that great (Taken from a mobile) and it's really one of those things you have to see to get the full picture, expecially the sea.

Surly, my arse. Yorkshire (ok, you said "Leeds"...) in you makes you super and fantastic and stuff.
As for Wales and Snowdonia... that area is wonderful. I like the rugged beauty of the UK's national parks. This country can be quite amazing. And then, well... you have Walsall.

Don't unless you want the thread to be closed.
Back on topic; I've never personally been to Wales, but I get told all the time it's like a mini-Scotland when it comes to the wilderness...minus the Capercaillie of course.
The thing I find odd in those pictures is there's barely any trees!

Re: Trip to Wales
The relative "poorness" of the soil doesn't help suppost trees. That and the "thiness" of the soil (not really great for supporting root networks). Twisted little hawthorns and rowans do pop up there and then. But its mainly gorse and heather you see. And maybe a grouse if no capercaillie!
Banks of trees do exist, but they're pocketd remnants of the great forests, or tended trees for making timber/paper/hunting land.
It's views like those that inspire my imagination alot.
