Children's Week, also known as Week of the Wardens,[1] is celebrated by both the Horde and Alliance in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. At the beginning of May, and lasting for a week, it is a time for heroes of both sides to give back to the innocents of war...the orphans!
Children's Week is also held for both factions in Shattrath City and Dalaran for higher level characters.
Many Azerothian holidays are based off real-life counterparts. Children's Week generally occurs in early May, and is likely based off of Japan's Children's Day which is held on May 5.
This years edition in Stormwind has been funded and organised by House of Nobles. During the week, adventurers may take care of one of the orphans, taking a young adventurer on a trip around various places on Azeroth.
The House of Nobles will also hold a special event that is aimed to close one week of celebration with a grand feast.
Firstly, there will be a hunting competition starting early in the morning and finishing after dusk that day. There will be three prizes for: the biggest boar, the biggest bear, and the biggest deer hunted. All taking part would be limited to Elwynn Forest and would need to be accompanied by an orphan. At half past eighth bell in the evening the jury will deliver the prizes for winning contestants.
Then, all the hunters with caught prey will go to Stormwind, where near Sergeant Rollo and Sir Thynderssen will begin to prepare the food for the feast.
At nine bells there will be many lectures hold in different parts of the city. Craftsman masters, warriors, and other artisans will be presenting their knowledge about their skills. Again, all the lectures are meant for the children mostly.
One our later the great feast at the gazebo will commence. Also at ten o'bell an auction will start. All the gold collected through selling valuable items will be handed to Matron Nightingale.
At eleven bells the Children's Week will be oficcialy closed with a show of fireworks.

21.00-22.00 Artisan Classes, Cathedral Square Stormwind City

- The Shining Socks:

- Khadgar’s Pipe of Insight:
- donated by Lord Aramal Blackstone
Description: The innovative archmage Khadgar created the first of these pipes while studying with acolytes in Dalaran. Though the pipe of insight can look like any pipe, it is most often made with a stem of gnarled wood and a deep bowl made of yellowed bone. Sometimes the bowl has mystical lettering or runes carved into it.
Power: When a character smokes this pipe, regardless of the tobacco, it emits a cloud of fluorescent smoke that spreads around the user in a 25-foot radius. Everyone who remains in this area for an hour gains the effects of a full night’s rest — they are refreshed and healed.
Spellcasters may prepare spells and meditate during this hour, as if they had slept for a full 8 hours. The pipe of insight functions once per day.
