Blood Wolf
Terik'lo ordered his warriors to form a line. These pesky Bladewind orcs were the very devil to fight one-on-one, but when faced with a solid line of steel-clad orcs with shields their agility and speed counted for little.
The line took form rapidly and with discipline and at his next barked order it began to move steadily forwards, towards the Bladewind orcs ahead.
These orcs were half naked, their torsos bare to the elements. Instead of axes and shields they hefted long swords and instead of armour they wore flags on their backs.
And oddly, one of them stood unarmed, her arms outstretched and a look of almost religious ecstasy on her face.
As Terik'lo and his warriors drew closer the snow beneath this female's feet began to swirl and turn red.
Her eyes were bleeding... And her nose...
More blood than a body should hold poured from her face, joining the swirling snow in a slushy red wave.
Then with a thump the atmosphere changed, staggering the disciplined line and forcing it to a halt. Terik'lo noticed some of his warriors had fallen to their knees and themselves were bleeding.
Terik'lo snarled in frustration and looked up, hearing an even louder snarl.
Before him stood a wolf. A huge wolf, bigger than any wolf he had seen before.
Its face was a mask of blood, as if half of it had been skinned.
Its eyes blazed with fury and hunger and it charged his broken line.
Claws and teeth flashed in the dim light as his warriors were butchered and Terik'lo knew he had been defeated.
He grabbed the orc closest to him and threw him at the huge, bleeding wolf. He had to escape! He had to take news of this new, savage foe to his superiors!
