Gerard "Bard" Bleakfjord
"Damn it, Charles! Don't you dare die on me!" Gerard screamed to his dying brother, clutching him in his arms as he tears ran down his cheeks. He paid no attention to the chaos around him, the beasts slaughtering his allies. His sole focus was on his brother as death took him. The poisoned arrow still stuck proudly from the neck of Gerard's dying brother, his body trembling as the pain and the poison began to overtake him, his lips quivering as he tried to calm Gerard, who now wept almost openly, his body shaking with rage as a tear landed on the cheek of his brother. "G-Gerard..." his brother managed, causing the man to halt his sobbing for a moment. Charles coughed up a trail of blood which stained his beard and neck. "Kill them all..." he managed in his dying breath as his eyes became shallow now, no longer full of life.
"You bastards!" Gerard roared as he looked up the sky, his arms shaking as he slowly lay his brother down to the ground. "You will pay for this, I swear it!" he turned in a circle to emphasis his vow. Sword in hand as he tightened the grip, his spare hand reaching for the banner of the two roaring Wolves up on their hindlegs, it was covered in black blood, and holes had been torn it, but the Warrior bore it in one hand as let out a guttural roar from a cocktail of anger and loss. He came upon his first Undead foe and strew the beast almost in two with his sword, not looking back to see its state as he ran the spike of the banner through the rotting gut of another Ghoul, pinning it to the ground as it writhed to break free . Turning he lodged the blade into the neck of a third foe, his boot finding it's hollow ribcage as he dragged the blade back, screaming his curses as he did so.
"Gerard!" a voice called over the din of the battle. "Charles!"
Gerard turned to the voices. "Uncle!" his voice was hoarse and hollow now as he turned round to see the Knight on the horse, raising a hand up to him, he had seen Charles lain dead on the floor and let out a sigh as Gerard clambered on behind him. "The battle is lost, Gerard. We must go." he nodded to another of the Knights as they scooped down to place the corpse of Charles over the back of his steed.
