Description:

Nearly as tall as a Dwarven woman and quite skinny, Celinda stands out among other Gnomes. Her hair is bright pink and her eyes a gentle sky blue, suitable for her softly featured, bright face.

Personality:

Blinkie is known for being loud, charismatic and extremely dangerous. She has swayed opponents with elaborate speeches and serious threats alike in her political career, and in war she is an engine of destruction, known to leave only ashes of her foes. A hard woman to work for, putting high demands on the performance of her underlings, she is even harder to work against, playing her high intellect and ruthless brutality together to crush her opposition.

As a businesswoman and engineer she open-minded and eager to cooperate with other races and officials, whereas her political work is characterized by a strong "Gnomes First" policy of independence, self-governing and military strength. She resents those of the Alliance who look down on Gnomes, and on Gnomes who choose their allegiances elsewhere than Gnomeregan itself, such as members of the Kirin Tor, the Argent Crusade, or even independents.

History:

Born the first child to Albax and Mara Blackcog, two of the most genius inventors of recent Gnomish history, Celinda grew up caring for her younger siblings - Melcin, Jaros, Nennin, Haylid, Isole, Berna, and Kanni - while learning at a very early age the arts of Magic and Engineering, from both her parents. Proving supremely adept at both, Celinda earned the nickname "Blinkie" from her father because of her near-compulsive abuse of the Instant Teleportation spell, frequently known as "Blink".

Blinkie chose not to apply for membership in the Kirin Tor, believing her talents in the Arcane were best reserved for use in service of her own people, but was a vocal supporter of the Grand Alliance and Gnomeregan's involvement in it. She later participated in the dangerous experiments on Gnomish soldiers carried out by her father to create the perfect soldier. The project was a spectacular failiure, however, and was quietly shut down by the Tinkers' Court.

When the Troggs invaded Gnomeregan, Blinkie participated in the war as a Battle-Mage and Tank-pilot, and was evacuated before the catastrophic irradiation. She has since fought tool and nail to bring the Gnomish people home, rather than allow them to languish as 'guests' in Ironforge forever.

After serving the Alliance as a Battle-Mage for many years she went into politics, elected as Gearholder of Arcane and Research on the Tinker's Court, then a subsidiary of the Ironforge Senate. Driven by her Pro-Gnome policies of independence, the Tinker's Court dramatically rejected the Ironforge Senate and began holding their own meetings for the first time since the fall of Gnomeregan.

• Nickname "Blinkie" derives from a nearly compulsive abuse of the Arcane Instant Teleportation spell, colloquially known as "Blink". during her youth.
  
• Inventor of dozens of military technologies such as the AT-2600 combat suit, Multichromatic Strider Camoflage, the VB-32X Submersible Clock-Tank and the Black Cog Microexplosive.
  
• Began her political career as the leader of a small pro-Alliance group called "The Azure Crusade", founded in opposition to the Scarlet Crusade's human-centric views spreading.
  
• Elected to the Tinker's Court as Gearholder of Arcane and Research, and responsible for the Tinker's Court separating from the Ironforge Senate after a failed Vote of No-Confidence against Chancellor Drengi Dragonback.
  
• In her time as Gearholder of Arcane and Research, used her position to strong-arm the Tinker's Court in some incidents. Dissident voices being abused and arrested at her order are known.
  
• Rumored to have used the Black Cog Microexplosive to sabotage her rivals during her rise to prominence in Gnomeregan, allowing her to become a successful inventor and businesswoman at a young age.
  
• Once climbed the Storm Peaks in Northrend and subjugated a Blue Proto-Drake in personal combat. She has since used this Proto-Drake as a mount and a symbol of power.
  

Things you may NOT know about this character:

• She was involved in a top-secret military project, the Soldier Enhancement Program, run by her father, Albax Blackcog. The project sought to enhance the physical capabilities of Gnomish soldiers with Alchemy, Engineering and Magic to make them physically superior to even Dwarven warriors. Nearly all test subjects died at various stages of alteration, causing the project to be shut down.
  
• Her hands appear somewhat scorched with dark burns, a remnant of her abuse of Fire Magic.
  
• Secretly infatuated with her colleague Joliwa Aerovelocitator II, despite maintaining a strict veneer of heterosexuality.
