Help me choose my new RP main!

Without any further introductions, the nominees are:
Berahnek Cinderbeard:
Dwarf. Amateur-Getafix and cook. Head of the doomed Cinderbeard clan. Poacher. Stingy, but quite wealthy. Wine-drinker(!). Elf-fetish. Weapon of choice: Soup. Pros: Backstory and stuff pretty much figured out. Wacky, which is fun. Cons: No idea where in the RP scene to insert him. Level: 90
Theodoric Schneider:
Human. Capitalist without ethics. Womanizer, despite being bad at it. Loves secrets, and the trade of information. Prone to extreme actions when low on confidence/funds. Weapon of choice: Crossbow. Pros: Old, familiar character to me. Some ideas for different directions further development can go. Cons: Doesn't really fit in too well in the current Alliance RP scene. Level: 30
Ayerene Burton:
Human villager who's signed up with the army. Currently anxious about her recent manifestation of paladin powers. Mother of three grown children. Weapon of choice: Equally untrained with all of them. Pros: A friendly character is easier to make IC friends with. Cons: Not thought out too well beyond the current situation. Level: 8-ish?
Severinus Reinhard:
Another Reinhard. 35 years old. Holier than you all. Not very fleshed out before tested in RP. Weapon of choice: Mean-looking axe of Heretic-hurting. Pros: Nice looking set, decent BS skill. Feels "fresh". Got some ideas about where I can take his story, in which others can be included with relative ease. Cons: Not exactly the most outgoing or tolerant. Level: 45
Seriously, I have no idea who to focus my time RPing on, and I prefer having a clearly defined main.
Also, as a btw, I'm Dwyburn.

Settled on Theodoric and Berahnek, while I level up a third one who'll take over when the others expire/lose their social circles etc.

I'd go with the Dwarf, but yes, you should consider a Horde character too. Theodoric would fit a Goblin perfectly, for example.

I'm always most comfortable playing on a max-level character; I'd go with the level 90.

What Thelos said, that is the main reason why I'm leveling my Horde mage now. So I can have more access to gear and such things, plus not get one shotting incase someone tries to gank.
It's not that hard to level them though if you have time for that. The mother of three could be interesting to see though.

As for the no horde-part:
I did mess a little around with Horde RP in august, but you guys are way too good at hiding and isolating yourself from everyone else (I'm counting setting up HQs in high level areas too, as that'd demand that I sink more time into my horde characters, which again I'm unwilling to do until I've had some experience with Horde RP).

Max-level is nice. I still find that 60%-ish of the gear I like is from Classic, with another 30% or so Outland related and only 10% or so from current content. So with a plate-wearer of level 45, a lot of the stuff I like is available, with more for every few levels gained. Just a thought though, it's certainly a valid point of view. Among my other toons I've got a 90 human DK, 80 Dranei mage and a 85 Tauren druid available. The druid, however is trapped on a dead pvp-server.

Should have come around a few months ago then, when we were situated in Ogrimmar for a looong time, with almost all the Horde guilds together

Max level is especially nice because you'll want to be able to defend yourself at least a little on a pvp realm.
That and I personally can't take people seriously that use their low-level characters to play someone of reasonable strength or importance. I've seen a level 11 arch-mage, for example, and I just keep thinking "I could kill you by sneezing on you, but you're supposed to be an arch-mage...?"
It just doesn't sit well.

You might also want to consider not-having a 'main' at all. 'Having a main' is something I mostly consider with PvE, in which having one character you pool most of your (limited) resources into can be important in tackling the high-end game content.
Role-playing doesn't really follow the same logic, I find. I don't really have a 'RP main'; I do not have a character that is more important than my other characters. I just use them for different things on different occasions, depending on what I feel like.

Well, just try several characters and you will eventually find yourself one that you find the most fun and spend most your time on. Thats how I do it, for me it's Stig and Charlie at the moment. I have hardly touched my lock, same with my paladin and death knight lately, hell even my priest which I leveled specificly for RP has been looking at me longingly in the login screen when I shuffle through.
