It is a fundamental truth of this world that anything that has long been united will surely divide; and anything that has long been divided will surely unite.

We observe this fundamental truth in the world every day. It is multi-faceted and no single mind can hold every truth that sentence speaks at once: it is both a statement on ourselves, our societies and our metaphysics. Societies are united by the very fact that they were once divided; a leader arises precisely to overcome the differences, and differences arise precisely because we desire to create distinction in unity. In life we recognize the difference of all beings, in death we must bow to the inevitability of becoming part of the One. So too in societies, so too in politics, so too in warfare. Empires will become rubble, lords will be unseated and victors will be defeated.

In a word, everything changes. The world never ceases to grow.

It is my belief that this should be taken as a cause for optimism. Do not cry for what you lose, for it can always be reclaimed. Nothing is ever truly lost; the world's cycles will return all things in time. 

Neither, I think, is this a cause for apathy. After all, we must recognize the fact that the world's cycles are driven by the actions of all beings. It is possible to withdraw into inaction, but to do so deprives you of the power to affect the exact expression of the Wheel of Ages. The world is changing around you; all things are fluid and in flux. And you can nudge them in a direction you desire. It follows, then, that many can exercise an immeasurably larger effect on the world than one; just as we recognize that it is the interaction and unity of the All that becomes and embodies the One. 

It is for this reason that societies form. It is for this reason that the Lotus blooms. 

Many people possessed of a desire for unity form the root; from their unity forms a great blossom and in time they, too, will cast off seeds, groups with different goals and desires, and wither away as their children recast the world they owned in their own image. 

The Blooming Lotus is a symbol of this belief. The world grows with our decisions, and our ideas and desires form a great branching bush competing for limited air and light; finally, only a single blossom will rise above the rest to become the Bloom of the Perfected Lotus. 

In other words, the Blooming Lotus Society is a unity of distinctions. We recognize the power in numbers, but above that we recognize the Strength of One. Many hands provide strength, but so does One will. We recognize that we are the product of our lives, and that our lives, the way we live them and the way we choose to fight our battles will form the basis for the lives of our offspring. We are children of the world of the Shado-Pan, and their philosophy must necessarily affect our own. We make the choice to define ourselves not in opposition, but neither in agreement. We offer an alternative to their belief in a static world and thus the opportunity to direct it instead of being directed by it.

We believe that one person can change the world, that many can do so with ease, and that many united in one cannot be deterred except by the product of their own labours. We believe that Pandaria is worth fighting for, and we believe that Pandaria is not merely a place, but an ideal: it is the appreciation of beauty, a world where children need not fear for war or hunger; it is where people rule themselves instead of being ruled by conquerors and where all men and women freely live and love in the shadow of a cherry tree. It is a world that knows the alternative and has rejected it freely. 

We recognize that things will change, but we will use all our influence to affect the change we desire in the world. Whether by word, blade or stealth, all the power we can bring to bear we will focus in this singular direction. We will oppose tyrants where ever they arise and combat ignorance where it is found.

Whether we grow in the sunlit breeze or beneath a veil of mists and shadow these are the Roots of our Lotus.

The Blooming Lotus society seeks able-bodied and like-minded pandaren of sound spirit.
