Strange signs in the Grizzly Hills

Strange makeshift gates have appeared in the Grizzly Hills along the paths leading into the North-west, seemingly marking a border. Atop the "gates" are signs with the following words written on.
On one gate, a tiny sign sits lower down, with the following words written on it in barely readable writing.
Let sleeping Worgs lie. Do not pass. Only death awaits a fool.

A third sign seems to of appeared, a slant of wood with the words crudely scratched into it.

The black dots are obviously where the "gates" would be, and the black line denotes how far south we currently go, though the only structures are the gates along the roads.
