What should the Menethil Harbour tavern be named?
The Wet Clam
Just for anyone who received a calendar invite to the opening: the date clashed with something else so it'll be postponed and reposted. The event will probably be moved to somewhere early May, after the Tol Barad event.

Re: The Wet Clam
All nice options, but I had a good giggle when I got down to The Wet Clam.

It's going to be taken half as seriously if you name it a sexual innuendo.

Agreed with Vangrel. Despite the fact that all the votes are going to it, that should not be what gets picked.

Haha! Are you kidding me? The name is awesome and actually makes it sound like it has always been that name, besides that who wouldn't call their tavern "The wet clam"? xD
Re: The Wet Clam
You know what, I'm disappointed it won't be the Wet Clam.
A nice little novel name that when its likeness is brought up in IC conversation the owner can be like "Yeaaah. Well I didnae realise what 'ad set mi' sen up fer til' after ah done signed the deed. Ah aint changing it though. Not fer no-one with their mind in the bog that's fer sure."
Afterall, there's nothing wrong with the Wet Clam as a name, the people that are wrong are the ones with the dirty minds. *Points an accusing finger*.

Re: The Wet Clam
The Wet Clam is quite a good name for a dive bar (gettit... right?!). The fact that people would (or could) associate as you suggest, well, that is just them afterall. It's a perfectly innocent name. And pubs and bars often have names that are puns or have double meanings.
Failing that, what about The Blue Oyster?
The other names I don't so much care for. However, here's some more.
Neptulon's Wake (or Locker)
Sailor's Rest (or Arms)
Scrimshaw's Arms
The Swinging Lantern (all old sailor's tales need a swinging lantern and a rolling ship to be authentic afterall...)

The Wet Clam isnt dirty unless you make it so. I find it to be the best name as a matter of fact. If people associate it with whatever erotic activities they are imagining and will therefore not go there, then you've just gotten rid of that lot.

Of the names up. The only name I find fitting for a tavern IS the Wet Clam.
Partly for the innoendo, partly because it sounds like the name of a tavern.
The names Gruff suggested are imo far better than any of the non Wet Clam alternatives.
True, I don't play so I'll never visit. Just thought I'd give my cents.

Re: The Wet Clam
Don't listen to Drustai/Vangrel/your inner voice, the Wet Clam is brilliant. People will go there more often if it had a funny name to hook them in! It's a double meaning as Gruff said.

So yeah, vote for whichever you like best!
The Wet Clam won't be picked because... yeah. I never realized it had such obscene connotations.
Well hell.. I would have voted for that

Seriously, "The Wet Clam" is a good name. That others might interpret it otherwise is their problem, and if they get offput by it... the better, since they'd probably just order water and spew abuse over the other customers.

Since when is a double entendre bad for a tavern name?

^ I'm with the Clamers. Wet Clam is the best name by far in my opinion. Not because of its twist into an innuendo, which may well still be amusing IC.
But more because it's just a fantastic name for a bar.

Well shit, that's almost unanimous. We'll stick with The Wet Clam, then. I just hope nobody ever Googles the name.
