Amalgamation of Sub-forums.
To save forum space and perform general husbandry on the forums structure, I suggest we remove the Population Sub-forums, Sub-forums, and move the topics to the Library and Art section.
This is what I suggest;
This is what I suggest;
Top Level - Library and Art
1st Level - Population
2nd Level - Alliance - Horde - Neutral
1st Level - One Shots
2nd Level - Warcraft Stories - Non-Warcraft Stories
1st Level - Story Collections
2nd Level - Previously requested Sub-forums for users placed here. (Although I recommend users that have less than 2 stories in their sub-forums have theirs purged and the stories placed in One Shots.)
1st Level - Art Collections

That could work...aye. It at least 'appears' easier to navigate with.

I'd like some more feedback on this, if you'd be so kind.

Well, the story section is a clusterfuck to say the least, it really does need to be sorted.
To me, as a reader (I don't actually use the story section, but humor me for a second as I pretend to be an avid reader) I find it extremely intimidating to go onto the story section, as there's so many sub threads with all these names, and to find what I want, can be a chore, to say the least since it's not categorized down at all, it's just a large list of names and stories and it's a very exhausting experience to view it all at once when I may only be interested in seeing a few of them, that fit the race or faction that I am playing.
Now, I do understand that it'd be a lot of work for the moderators to go through all of them, but perhaps have a thread simply named "Unorganized" where all the old stuff go, to take off a large burden for the mods?

Don't take anything I say as "official" since I leave forum structure to Julia for the most part but:
1) I do not believe we have an issue with space.
2) I see no reason to move character profiles into a less obvious place, nor any reason why any sub-forums within the population section need to go.
Lastly, regarding the "clusterfuck" description of the library, it's a little inaccurate. General wow stories, non-wow stories and then everyone's personal section.
That set up is fine, if people start breaking fingers while scrolling, I'm sure it'll be looked at.

The most complaints I have gotten are that sub-forums are not liked at all. So if anything, more sub-forums will be moved to the front page rather then making more sub-forums.
As for the storage thing, I personally don't think there is an issue there as far as I know.

There's more removal than addition this way.

Which for the time being isn't a requirement, as I said. We haven't got an issue with storage space.

It's not about storage, it's about accessibility.

Again, not a problem. Everything is clearly marked and easily navigated. I appreciate the effort people have made regarding the forum, but change shouldn't be brought forward just for change.
I don't agree that your idea makes the place any easier/more sensible to navigate than it currently is. As I said before though, any changes to forum structure is Sai's business ultimately.

Re: Amalgamation of Sub-forums.
I believe the 'clusterfuckness' of the Library section lies in the fact that there are so many personal sub-forums, many who belong to players who have long since gone inactive. Most of these sub-forums only have about one or two short stories in them at best and some don't even have a single one in them. The vast majority of the stories posted in these sub-sections could have been posted in the general story forum just fine, in my opinion.
I know that this is probably not a feasible option, but I would prefer it if all these personal sections were removed all together with a very few exceptions and have their contents moved to the general forum.

Aye I noticed there are a few that have not posted at all. I may consider making a few more clear rules as to having ones own story section, which could help. For example posting at least 2-3 stories to begin with for it not to be classified as general stories.

Maybe moving the personal sections that haven't seen any activity in half a year? A year? To an archived stories sort of area could help clear the clutter

This, together with the stricter rules Saihna just suggested, would be ideal.

I personally don't mind Population staying where it is.

Re: Amalgamation of Sub-forums.
There certainly was (at some point, many moons ago) a deletion/shuffle of the story threads. Especially those ones which had never been active, or had been inactive for some considerable time.
I'd not see a problem with that happening again, I guess. Any thread there (under the individual thread section) with no posts for 6+ months would see fine by me to be at least "moved" (archived?). Deletion I'd not suggest, as it's still someone's work.
