General story [The forgotten soliders] Empty General story [The forgotten soliders]

Your little girl, with curious eyes that glows blue just like the warm skies above her. Her hair is long and brown, and even though you can not touch it, you can tell its soft. You start to smile at the sight of her as she notices you from across the field. She disappears into the sea of flowers and tall grass, but you can already hear her small feet rushing her towards you. Now and again, you see the very tips of that long hair of hers dancing in the wind. You chuckle quietly, waiting for her to appear before you again.
You hear your voice whispering the same words as you did the moment you first held her.
“just like your mother, bayb girl”. She must be nearby now, you can hear her panting and giggling. You kneel down on the grass with arms ready to catch her as she most likely will fly out from that field. You smile with a chuckle, bracing yourself. You feel the wind turning colder as it brushes by you. Your smile dies down. The field slowly turns blue and silver from frost. Her giggle is gone.

Suddenly a series of highpitched screams pierces painfully into the very core of you.
Within two blinks, you wake up with your head pounding as you find yourself lying in a snowy ditch.
The snow around you glows crimson. Slowly, you realize where you are. You hold your head, feeling the wound on the back of it, so deep you dread to feel how deep with your fingertips. The armies around you screaming, shooting, casting – they slowly make your will to get up very shallow.
You want back to your home. Your house, your daughter. Saddened you close your eyes, knowing there is no going back, not yet. The petrified final screams, as they one by one, fall into place in the mass graves on the field. Is it war, or a slaughter?
Your hands presses down the snow beneath you, forcing you back up on your feet.
You can hear her crying, you remember the sound. You remember the salty scent of her tears on her pink cheeks as you wiped them away. You remember why she cried, and it torments you that you can not pick her up in your arms and lie to her. Tell her she does not need to be scared, that it all will be over soon, that you will always be there.

The elven woman infront of you so suddenly and so silently, forces your world to a stop. Nobody sneaks up on you. All you do is blink slowly, slowly grasping hold of your sword, trying to point its tip towards the elf. All she does is tilting her head to the right slowly while peering curiously at you. Her eyes glow a sharp green that seems so intense in color against the snow and ice covering the lands around you. Her armor is of rugged leather, covered in dirt, frost, and brown marks that seem to be dried blood. You loose yourself studying the being, unsure of your next move. The sword feels much heavier than usual.
Her raven hair cascading down her shoulders seem careless of the harsh winds on the field but stays in its place aside the few hairs whipping at her nosetip and blood-stained cheeks. Her hair is so long and so tangled, and you know even though you will never touch it, that it would feel rough and dry against your fingertips.

Your vision suddenly goes blurry, perhaps from the tears the cold wind forces out from clawing at your face. You lick your lips to speak, knowing it will sting from the cracks on them. You can hear your sword hitting the ground under the shallow layer of snow, drowning most of your words.
“...M-my child..”
You want to say, “wait, stop, I promised her, my child, that I would be back, leave me please. I promised her...” but your world starts to fade from you. You are weak. You are confused, disoriented, wounded.

All you see, is your little girl. You promised to come back to her. If you could just see her, one more time.
The figure seems to grow larger, you realize, she is walking towards you. You smile, falling to your knees on the snow. You open your arms, ready to catch her. You have yet to notice the dagger that swiftly flew from the elven hand and into your chest. It is all too blurry now.
“It..will all be over, it will all be over soon...” you stutter quietly, resting on your knees. Your eyes are fixed into the distance. But you know she is standing right infront of you. You can feel the cold metal leaving your body as she rips the dagger out from you. The last thing you feel is the cold snow against your cheek as your body falls to the ground.

“Humans...” her dry low voice snickers. The elven woman hides her blade from sight and kicks some snow over your body before leaving you to rest. “..Nobody will remember him, like they forgot us all out here.”
Her eyes set to the fields, watching the burning piles of bodies gather a black cloud of smoke to the skies.
“..we are all forgotten”
