[A] Dor Diel Shanre : Explaining a few things.
Hello everyone from Defias Brotherhood,
We from Dor Diel Shanre have some points we'd like to clear up. For a long time now people has been looking down on us as a ERP-guild. Which we are -NOT-. We've taken into concideration complaints whispers and we have answered. A new one-strike rule is active within the guild as of now, ERP results in instant-kick from now on. If you find anyone representing Dor Diel Shanre doing ERP, whisper an officer. Officers which you can contact are :
Zathoroz
Callóz
Tank
Aoii
Hurlèy
Zailynia
We never intended to focus on ERP. We've never really wanted it either. All we want this guild to be is a bar-RP guild, kind of like a RP-hub for people from various backgrounds/places IC'ly.
We wanted to avoid taking these serious steps, but we consider it necessary. Thus, if you see anyone in the guild ERP'ing, take a screenshot of the event and send it to one of the mentioned officers.
Sincerely, Dor Diel Shanre.

Wooah, a bit harsh isn't it? Your guild has got a reputation for being insanely ERP heavy, which is a shame as it does steer people away. I mean, it's your guild so this is just my opinion but I'd suggest just telling those who involve themselves in it to do so in secrecy and away from public chat. I find ERP funny but I don't know if punishing someone is the way you should go about it.

We have given quite a bit of warnings in the past about it, but was generally too kind and letting one slide and them continuing. So in an officer meeting we decided to be more strict and serious about it.

One thing is allowing people to entertain themselves as they please in a video game. Another is to allow people to do stuff that actively ruins the reputation of your guild.

It only ruins the reputation if the people are open about it and do so in public chat. Consistent ERP for the sake of cyber should be discouraged in a guild like this one but... all out banning seems a little much. If they do it in public chat, go ahead. That is just plain stupid!Ixirar/Kavalis wrote:Vaell wrote:Wooah, a bit harsh isn't it? Your guild has got a reputation for being insanely ERP heavy, which is a shame as it does steer people away. If anybody can prove you did it, you didn't take it private enough. I have plenty of screenshots of their members doing shit in /e and /s.

If you're writing out the hot sweaty pounding of your genitals against which ever hole takes your fancy in emotes, or through a medium that can be seen by other players; then you deserve to be caught. There is nothing wrong with erotic roleplay, just don't whip out your big purple staff where the public can read it.
It makes it awkward when you're having a sausage sandwich, and you walk across Stormwinders Gone Wild in a public fountain.

It's legal to whip out your staff in Dalaran, but I'd prefer to shoot my Arcane Missile in Archmage Vargoth's Retreat.

Re: [A] Dor Diel Shanre : Explaining a few things.
Why is a guild even looked down on for ERPing?
I do agree with Vaell that it's harsh to kick members for doing something they enjoy which is entirely harmless. Yes, it should be kept in /w or /p so people who don't want to see it don't see it. But a warning, then a gkick?

Just don't stick your polymorphed creature in my portal, because things might get a bit explosiveArenfel/Mikhael wrote:Tjib/Oragg wrote:but Arenfel! We do that all the time!Arenfel/Mikhael wrote: just don't whip out your big purple staff where the public can read it.

Re: [A] Dor Diel Shanre : Explaining a few things.
We've given our members 2+ warnings, yet there is no result. We get complaints on our members for doing ERP in /s and /e. We have had as a guild rule for a long time now that goes by the words of "ERP must be kept instanced and at all times in /p or /w.
Despite all of our methods and warnings, it keeps on going. Now we must enforce it further to ensure our guild doesn't drop in reputation.
You may think it's harsh, but we only consider this necessary.

Fair enough, if they do it in /say then I'd do the same. I don't want to know all your weird little fantasies, you cyber bunch!

This may be the single best post I have ever seen. Ever. Anywhere.
I have nothing constructive to add to this thread, but I had to say that. xD

Not fair i couldn't eat Pie since everytime i saw it i thought it was shoot out of a cannon at feral!
Moving on i do not really see a point of this thread, the ones who might be doing stuff in /say /e and not on /party don't really read the forums i think. But yeah even when you got to smack sense into people don't do it too harshly.

I think it's more just aimed at making the community aware that they're not an ERP guild so people actually know what type of guild they are. Which is entirely understandable, and I know the damage that type of reputation could do to a guild.
even when you got to smack sense into people don't do it too harshly.
Sieg, I love you <3 and this is my new favourite quote.
Re: [A] Dor Diel Shanre : Explaining a few things.
Yes you gotta be soft, thats why Sieg is sorounded by many Night elven females. Paozi was very interested in his secrets to his sucess, obviously he answered charm, still he stated he's got a wife.

Well, we have ofcoarse made the rules more noticable in the guild aswell, this thread was just to start clearing up the rep it has gotten from before.
And I do believe that Sieg does smack people very harshly at times

I'm not going to push my opinion though, just because 20% of me is going "Aww, give them a break!", 30% of me is going "I understand, fair play!" and the remaining 50% of me is saying "I can't wait to see the name and shame screenshots!"
