Really liking the look of this, Khal!

Best of luck with it mate, I hope it ends up being as creative/enjoyable as the last venture into this area.

As an old veteran of the previous SI:7 Concept lead by Jayse Ravenwest, I daresay this looks pretty nice. I may be in touch.

You've made a very nice presentation, Sah!

But I do find it hilarious how the official armor has all kinds of glowing stuff on t. Real sneaky, blizzard!

It's not the official armor. The official armor is the standard black leather set. Razz

Well of course it's an advertisement and those need to look cool, so they wore flashy costumes and took pictures.

Gorgeous promotional material!

I can't wait to see you guys stalk about Pandaria - though if you'll be doing your jobs correctly, I won't be seeing much of you at all!

That's the tragedy of stealth RP. You're like an IC lurker.

This is looking very good indeed, I also really like the fact it's an out of guild community concept. Drastically reduces the chances of meta and allows for people to blend and "infiltrate" other guilds very easily. Best of luck.

The glowy parts are clearly parts of what makes the stealth works, and if you wonder why the stealth works through glowy parts, there is the alternative to the entire "a wizard did it" that works perfectly in wow "ENGINEERING!"
Or more preferably "GNOMISH ENGINEERING!".
Looks cool, if my rogue was free i would sign up.

We just RP the glowy parts as a phosphorous liquid that can be activated when needed, kinda like snapping a glow stick.

Oh and we don't like snakes...massive ones!

Wow, that's brilliant. Might do something like that for Raen. He was once described as looking like a Winter's Veil tree.

True enough, but the radio thing could feel extremely metagaming, if used improperly. Actually, it's a meta vibe as is. I know they're in the game, canon (due to the MoP introduction quest) but still. It is a bit... Ridiculous.
Not dissing the guild tho, hope the best for you lot.

Meh. We use radios every now and then in the Marauders when it's convenient, and the Sunfury Elite used to play guild chat as an in-character psychic connection. This is a wonderful world of magic and tinkering, anything is possible. Sometimes you just need to be able to communicate to drive the story forward.

If I recall Jayse used a radio system when he was charging the SI:7 thing back in the days. I don't see the harm in SI:7 being given such aslong as weakness is taken into account of such communication and perhaps something severely expensive to obtain (I believe the crown pays for SI:7 funding, no?). I don't know the radio system used in MoP as I havn't played MoP (yet) but I would imagine such technology to of course not be so advanced to begin with.

In other news when that pic advertisement mentions Valder, are we talking about old timer Valder who was also in old SI7? ( I forgot your other toons, don't sue me).

Anyway all the luck in this and I might just check out the scene again when I return to WoW soon.

As far as I remember radios were just a shit excuse to metagame by SI:7 and guard guilds alike. IC guild chat always baffled me, especially when people just had every day conversations from Northrend to EK as if they were right next to each other.

I'd say if you have radios, limit their use in range and power, so the signal is weak underground, etc.

In the Cult of Shadow some people just used the IC /g way too freely and it really ruined the atmosphere for me personally. People who we fought also had IC /g and used it to call reinforcements from Kalimdor, which is something I'll never forget as a huge flaw in having something so easily abused.

I'd say, in my humble opinion, to avoid the over-use of all radios and lay down a set of rules that will make metagame impossible as well as the use of an in-character guild chat not something to be taken for granted..

The problem in the abovementioned case seems to me to be more of a case of misplaced competetiveness than some ethereal breaking of a ghostly conduct no one has ever reached consensus on. What is meta-gaming? Is using a forum to advertise an event meta-gaming? I'd argue it is. Is that bad? Of course it's not. So when is meta-gaming bad? Well, when it's used to gain an unfair atvantage or "cheat", of course.

It's poor sport to call in reinforcements to tip the scale of battle in your favor when your enemy has gotten the drop on you our ounumbers you in a scenario. It's a fallacy to assume this sort of thing happens because of meta-gaming. It happens because people are dicks and don't abide to a cooperative spirit of fair play.

IC guild-chat is fine. Radio, telepathy, collective unconscious, Emerald Dream: whatever works for you. If people abuse it to gain unfair atvantages then, hey, guess what, it's a dick move, but then again, dicks will be dicks no matter what tools they have at their disposal.

Probably with Paozi here.

If I recall correctly, Jayse had set up rules regarding these radios for his version of this organisation. Stuff like signal strength, location, distance allocation etc were all incorporated. I've no idea if Khal here is using that sort've thing or not, however.

Though a recruitment thread probably isn't the best place to start discussing what is and what isn't meta-gaming/whether IC guild chat is good or bad.
