Computer help : (

Right so I am perhaps overlooking something -really- simple here and i've never had this problem before with myself but here goes...

Basically my other half restored her windows 7 today to a clean slate and the internet refuses to acknowledge it is there and I have been trying to figure work arounds with no luck. The cable is plugged in but according to the computer the internet doesn't even work.

Now in Device manager there are some things on that list with a yellow "!" next to them under the section of "Andre enheter" (Other devices, this is on a Norwegian version of windows)

The list are as follows to the best of my english translation of them:

Ethernet controller.
Network controller.
SM-Bus controller
USB controller
Easy communication controller for PCI. (Think the word is Easy, the Norwegian word is Enkel apparently so feel free to correct me as I thought the word for easy was "lett" <_<)

Anyway my dilmena is I looked into the ID's for Network controller as I think that effects your ability for internet connection and even then the "solutions" didnt seem to work or I have just done it wrong. By solutions I mean finding the right drivers.

The Hardware ID was:
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0301&SUBSYS_00551737&REV_00
PCI/VEN_1814&DEV_0301&SUBSYS_00551737

Eira those ! next to them means:

You need to download the drivers for them ^^

So download them from your comp then over to hers and make sure its the right ones ^^

Google to find the right ones or download a program who finds the right ones for her comp^^

Then it will be up and running.

The easy solution is: go to the homepage of the computer inquestion, write in model, check drivers. then download those. It will make the net work and other newer updates it should then be able to download itself.

'Tis what I tried but either they're not working or I am doing it totally wrong. The only one I found that "tracks" them "offline" was some paid one. That didn't help.

Tried it, her one seems to be an intel make and I did get a DL from it but that didn't work. Then I tried the network controller ID as I pasted above but googling it mostly took me to "HP Pavillion help required plx" pages and from what I understand they were being listed as "wireless" which isn't what we want out of a network controller.

Have you tried to "serie koble din data med hennes?" Så hun får nett via din datamaskin? Det burde nemlig gå selv om hun teoretisk sett ikke har nett...
