OUYA, the console of the future?

I'll keep an eye on it, but I've no desire to donate. At the moment, this strikes me as the x-box arcade over-glorified. The ability to 'try' games for free is all well and good, but it'll be a portion of them.

Basically going back to getting demos with my copy of PSN.

As an aspiring game developer this is absolutely brilliant news.

I saw it grow from about $100k to $1 million in about 7 hours yesterday. Kickstarter is just disgusting.

No developer except Notch has actually dedicated games to it which means it'll just be minecraft portable

Well, it might be good for some intresting indie titles on smoething else than PC or a touchscreen. I do doubt that any huge titles will be done for it.

Yeah, but I support the initiation, it's something different, and it might spawn into something larger, if it gets a good footing. I don't think it's a scam, the hardware won't be anything amazing, no. But if it can provide some decent games, does it matter?

With the hardware it has, no huge titles -can- be made for it, unless you're counting big casual games like angrybirds, or I guess something like Minecraft too. And even if it would have the potential, devs would probably put their indie titles on steam for a low cost rather than f2p on this console. But as was previously mentioned, it does seem like a scam. PayPal payments are retractable for 3 months or something, aren't they? Imagine how long it'll take to produce and ship this.

The only 3 concrete claims-to-fame I saw was Android based, Minecraft and Twitch. So what, I can call my friends and build houses in minecraft while watching people play on the only real gamer platform (I'm pretty strict about consoles being a sucky way to go if you want to be a "true gamer")
